I'm probably going to move soon. I want to live on water. It will probably be either NC/SC coast or Florida's. I wanted to move to the keys but so far my wife says no.

Seriously-good luck with prices and all encompassing Home insuranceI'm probably going to move soon. I want to live on water. It will probably be either NC/SC coast or Florida's. I wanted to move to the keys but so far my wife says no.
Fleeing the sinking ship?Sounds like the political version of white flight. What kind of catchy name can we attach to this one?

So, you obviously missed the post where I said I'd been interested in moving well before the orange turd was elected.Sounds like the political version of white flight. What kind of catchy name can we attach to this one?

Not to mention all the HUGE benefits of no illegal aliens in our country! It'll be nothing but unicorns and rainbows from here on out.Definitely don’t want to move now that all of these Trump voters signed up to pay for my tax cuts with their Medicare, Social Security, and disability benefits.

I realize you are the OP but my comment was general in nature, not directed towards you.So, you obviously missed the post where I said I'd been interested in moving well before the orange turd was elected.
And fuck, we have another one that post like a troll on their first post.
Just don't talk politics with the locals.........I wouldn't mind being in a small town in Montana these days.
Yes you would. After spending much time there, I can assure you that unless you're wealthy beyond belief, the allure wears off quickly.I wouldn't mind being in a small town in Montana these days.
Makes no sense how all the top state races went to the Dems but Trump won NC.As a resident in NC, I'm thinking "why move"? It's a solid purple State and if you live in a "blue" area it's not so bad. We will now have -for the foreseeable future - a Democrat Governor (with a little bit of veto power), a Dem. Lt. Guv., a Dem. A.G. , a Dem. Sec. of State AND ALSO a Dem. Superintendent of Publicks Instruxshun.
If you are already in a Blue area in N.C. - you should be OK for the most part. Sure, Trump/Musk could tank the economy and make life miserable for immigrants... but that's going to affect us no matter which State you live in.
Now, as far a moving ex-pat style to another country, that's certainly something to research. But that's not so easily done unless you have the kind of money that would have had you voting for Trump anyway... for the tax breaks of course. If you're young(er) and have the kind of job where you can work remotely - from anywhere in the world - you can look around. Perhaps you can sign on with an international company...
Finally, there are 7 countries I know of whereby you can sign up for dual citizenship if one of your parent's or Grandparents were born there. Germany, Italy, Ireland just to name a couple... do the research
My son lives in Plymouth. About 20 minutes west of Minneapolis. We've visited several times and really like the area. Duluth is around 2.5 hours north, and, according to my son, a really nice place, especially in the summer months. Winter weather can be brutal, but the springs and summers are really incredible too.My wife found 10 acers in Minnesota for a really good price. It's close to Duluth.
Anyone live in that area? From reading the reviews, Duluth seems like a pretty nice place.
