I think it’s more that 18-21 year olds are f’ing pissed about Covid. Colleges handled it ok. It was an absolute disaster for most high school students.

That may well be part of it, but I also suspect that part of it is that 18 to 21 year olds are often still not in the job market, while 22 to 29 year olds are. And once that happens then it often becomes rather clear which party really gives a shit about workers, especially to anyone who is looking for a public sector job.

Some podcaster had an interesting take on this issue. High school kids got fucked, but not as badly as dead old people. The problem, though, is that we had no national reckoning with those deaths and no valorization of the personal sacrifices made by, yes, teenagers who lost the "best" years of their lives.
