Right wingers these days are all about “to seem rather than to be.” Trump is a weak man’s idea of a strong man, a stupid man’s idea of a smart man, a poor man’s idea of a rich man, an emasculated man’s idea of masculinity, and a beta’s idea of an alpha. I can't speak for anyone else on here, but your description doesn't fit me at all.

I never really had an opinion on him one way or another until I heard him talking about religion in general, and Islam in particular. He came across as a smarmy, arrogant, and very ignorant person who thought he was a lot smarter and more well-informed than he actually was. From that moment on I didn't like him. It's not because I agree or disagree with him on stuff - I probably agree with him on most things - it's because I think he has shit-fer-brains.

I was an avid watcher of Real Time for years until Bill drifted into RFK,jr anti vax lunacy and was promoting diet and exercise as an alternative treatment for folks with significant psychiatric disorders.

Trump is a trust fund baby who bought his way out of service to his country, squandered his inheritance, cheated on every wife he's ever had, cheated on every business partner he's ever had, got ran out of his own hometown, was investigated for fraudulent charities, cheats at EVERYTHING! Was found liable for sexual assult, has multiple aligations of sexual misconduct, caroused with Jeffery Epstein, bragged about his sexual desires for his own daughter, and has never displayed one OUNCE of integrity.

Nobody, and I mean nobody has ever associated themselves with him unless they benefited from it in some way. And I haven't even mentioned his appearance. He wears more makup than RuPaul. Sports the worlds WORST comb over, looks like melted ice cream and smells like shit. He can't drive, bait a hook, cook, clean or feed himself. He's a GIGANTIC toddler who grifts everyone he's ever known and the only people he will ever make happy are the mexicans who will eventually dig his grave.

If you think THAT is an "Alpha Male" then you need to reassess your life, because it's no doubt in shambles.

I know some on here believe I secretly like trump etc. I loathe him, actually, believing him to be completely lacking of humor, empathy, simple kindness, while possessing so many of the worst characteristics of mankind, greed, vindictiveness, lust for power, etc. That said I did find some comfort in Maher's report on this Trump he encountered that does not reveal himself in public, especially since we are stuck with this fuck for 43 more months. Also curious about the psychological aspect here. Why is he one person in public and apparently capable of humor, thoughtfulness, etc. In private?
Have others watched and if so, thoughts?

I'm the opposite, I find no comfort in his outward persona being a fake show for the cult. He should be genuine in his public appearances.

Interesting. I'm under no illusions that Trump is a cross between Gandhi and Einstein behind the scenes but Maher is not the first guy that has said that Trump is a different person, more empathetic, more introspective when there's not a camera on him.
