Actually, I'm not sure what you're asking here? Are we using Mount Rushmore here as a loose term for “greatest [whatever] in a group of things” or are we limiting it to 4 things like on the literal Mount Rushmore?

Maybe that is a make up call for this one:
Maybe the Jabari Parker comparison is more apt.the boozer / banchero comparison is a bit odd esp after saying you don't know if his game will translate......banchero's game has definitely translated.
i agree with you fwiw just don't think banchero is a great comparison as he's a very good NBA player. boozer seems like he's kind of at his ceiling already and even though he's got a big, well developed body he's not an elite run and jump guy. a lot of his game seems dependent on his bulk and strength and that's not gonna work as well at the next level with bigger, stronger dudes everywhere.
as far as dookies go he kinda reminds me of a taller jabari parker. big, thick boy with a lot of skills but doesn't have elite athleticism.
Are you saying that this will go down as a great Carolina win in the Carolina-dook rivalry or are you saying it will be considered one of the 4 best games, from the Carolina perspective, in the Carolina-dook rivalry?Actually, I'm not sure what you're asking here?
Yeah, that call plus review is a simple summary of why the entire challenge system in CBB is absolutely terrible. As long as we are comparing bad calls Veseer also had his wrist yanked on the play where dook won the out of bounds challenge that wasn’t called.
Kinda feel the same way about Marvin Bagley, even though he was second pick...I don’t mean to imply that Banchero is a total bust or anything and I know his numbers have been better recently, but overall I feel like he’s been fairly underwhelming and inefficient by the standards of a first overall pick.
But I think that review was a pyrrhic victory for dook. The refs had to reverse the call but they also saw the fouls they missed. I think that led to tighter calls the rest of the half and the resulting foul trouble on dook’s bigs was key.Yeah, that call plus review is a simple summary of why the entire challenge system in CBB is absolutely terrible.
I think the FF win and K’s last games win balance the scales where it had gotten lopsided in agonizing defeats. Last night was another finger on the scale.OK. It’s Super Bowl Sunday, so folks should have some time to ponder this. Let’s do it.
I think there can be zero doubt that 2022 UNC upset of dook in the Final Four is absolutely the pinnacle at this point.
Other Nominees for best UNC wins over dook in men’s basketball (I am limiting to games I actually remember):
——
- 2026: Home - 71-68, Seth shot with 0.4 (only lead of game), double court storming
- 2022: @ dook - 94-81, upset in K’s last home game
- 2006: @ dook - 83-76, start of Hansbrough’s dominance at Cameron
- 2005: Home - 75-73, Marvin Williams put-back / comeback game
- 2003: Home - 82–79 upset (bloody lip Felton)
- 2001: @ dook - 85-83 (foul hard call by Coach K)
- 1996: Home - 73-72 — comeback from dook 17-point first half lead and 11-point second half lead, UNC trailed most of the game
- 1995: @ dook - 102-100 2OT, Capel prayer, Stack dunk, etc.
- 1992: Home - 75-73, Bloody Montross, undefeated dook
- 1989: ATL ACC Final - 77-74 (a war with nearly 50 fouls called)
- 1986: Home - 95-92, Dean Dome debuts with a thriller
- 1984: Home - 96-83 2OT - Doherty forces first OT on Senior Day
- 1980: Greensboro (Big Four) - 78-76
- 1974: Home 96-92 (OT) — THE comeback
In making this list, I came to the conclusion that we have more heart-breaking losses in close ones in the rivalry overall, but the Final Four win papers over a lot.
The 1961 game deserves to be on that list. (Just saw that this list is limited to wins, so the below doesn’t count).OK. It’s Super Bowl Sunday, so folks should have some time to ponder this. Let’s do it.

Give them some slack here. They’re just in shock at having participated in a game where the refs didn’t carry their jockstraps for them. Must be the first time in 40 years all the calls didn’t go their way. Probably an aberration, but new territory for them for sure.dook has never lost a game to us in basketball or football where they didn’t paint themselves as some kind of victim. It’s part of their dna.
That's a nice way of looking at it. dook definitely did not get the benefit of the calls last night that they traditionally get in their games. But I think that review was a pyrrhic victory for dook. The refs had to reverse the call but they also saw the fouls they missed. I think that led to tighter calls the rest of the half and the resulting foul trouble on dook’s bigs was key.
One thing I'm sure of this morning is that I DGAF about any of the whining come from dookies today.
There crying about da rayuffs rings hollow across the CBB universe.
Eff dook.
