Biorhythms for dook @UNC: 6:30 Start

Your position on what Dixon was looking for contradicts Seth’s version of what Dixon was looking for. He said it was designed to go to either of the bigs but once Dixon drove, the D collapsed and he made the right read.

Personally after watching the glorious replay a zillion times I thought there was a lob opportunity to Caleb if he floated it high enough. Would've been sick but it’s better that he didn’t since it would’ve meant a few more seconds on the clock.
I'm actually glad that didn't happen and that Seth got to take the winning shot. He's a great senior and has more than earned it, especially after battling back from his injury. His statements after the game about loving UNC and loving the rivalry and that he was happy for the team are what UNC basketball is all about, imo.

Well, I would imagine Seth would know a bit better than me. It looked to me that the play was going to Seth because he had been setting up to shoot for like 8 seconds. I mean, that's his job but he seems more intent on it here.

Anyway, "either of the bigs" sounds right, and they weren't entirely sure who was going to go where.

There is no way that Scheyer drew it up for the defense to leave Caleb to go double Dixon. So I don't think our guys expected it either. I'm glad he didn't lob for Caleb. I think the chances of something going awry there would be too high. Let us at least get the ball to the rim.

By the way, it's worth taking this opportunity to look at the team's development this year. The roster is what it is, fine -- that's a different topic. I don't know how you could look at this roster and not be impressed by how the team has developed.

Dixon has come a long way. Not a 5 star prospect, not a flashy super-athlete, but a guy who has been getting consistently better all season. Caleb has been awesome all year of course, but he's also been getting better. Jared seems to maybe have had a light go off. So despite disappointing performances from Evans and Bogo, HD has the team playing at a high level, with a different cast of characters than maybe we thought.

I think one could make a solid COY case for HD.

I figured someone would isolate this video

Saw it live. Not cool. Not a punch or anything but if they find out who that was they shouldn’t be allowed back in this season, IMO.

As fun as court storms look, this kind of bush league stuff is why they probably shouldn’t be allowed in the first place. All it takes is a handful of douche bags like the guy that threw the water bottle to mar a cool moment.

It’s also amusing to hear Scheyer/Dook complain about it in the postgame. If they have a problem with punches getting thrown in the smith center during this rivalry then maybe we should take a trip down memory lane. Dhantay Jones, Gerald Henderson, etc.

Something like that happens every court storm.

Remember when the Va Tech guy decked the ODU fan? Or Kyle Flipowski suffered a near fatal knee injury during the Wake courtstorming? There will always be some fan or player (or both) that don't know how to conduct themselves.

With all the footage you’d think they’d have footage of a punch being thrown. Throwing the water bottle was classless (not sure it really hit anyone directly) but much different than punching someone on the dook staff.

ETA: just heard Scheyer’s comments. Said staff member pushed in the face which could have been a number of things many of which inadvertent. But he did say he feared for him and his family that they might get trampled. Should there have been time for dook team and staff to leave the court? Yes, of course. But Scheyer, lighten the 🤬 up. Anything to distract from the loss I guess.

Caleb was a bit late there because he and Henri had a bit of confusion out front. I think Dixon already had Trimble in sight when Caleb suddenly enters the picture. I don't think Caleb was the primary option at all. The only reason it's open is because the Dukie inexplicably left him to go triple team the ball -- it was definitely not a planned rotation. Anyway, Caleb was supposed to dive to pull the weakside in and all the pass to Seth. You can tell that Caleb knows where the ball is supposed to be going, since he didn't try to catch it himself.

So Dixon was looking for Seth the whole time and had him in sight. He could have dumped it down to Caleb but it's a bit risky to suddenly change targets in that situation. I'm fine with it going all the way through.
Trimble said the play was to the bigs and not him. Dixon made that decision in the moment.

Let's be serious I can only imagine how outraged Heel fans would be if dook only had 1 foul called on them, homies. Just what all fans do. Great win and f dook.

Agree. But other than the no call on the potential block/charge call I can’t think of another point in the game where I thought we got away with that one.

Regarding the non call, maybe the refs were actually swallowing their whistle on calling a block on Boozer 🤔😉

Make up for the no call early when Veesar got his balls rattled.
that was nuts, no pun intended.

brown intentionally forearm shivered veesaar below the belt and it was obvious on the replays and the commentators kept talking about veesaar's chest and that he was catching his breath. wtaf.
