The first 6 are set when Trimble gets back. Right now there is a big drop off after that. Maybe Dixon, Powell or Young can step up and contribute more off the bench. High and Brown just aren't good enough to back up Veesaar and Stevensen. When there was more than 1 bench player on the floor last night the lead always got less and less. I think the way Navy plays made it a clunky game, too. It was hard to really get a good flow going against them. It sounds like the team wasn't happy about the performance since they had a players only meeting.
Followng their 73-61 win over Navy on Tuesday night, the Tar Heels called a players-only meeting to express disatisfaction over not playing to their standard.

Strange to already have a players only meeting. I guess I like the initiative, but 4 games in? Seems like they just need to play harder and with more focus. The defense in the first few games was great. Last night was awful - lazy and poor communication. I like this team so much better than last year, but there are certainly questions.
Luka can provide some offense, but not a great defender. Slow.
Evans - not sold on him. Has been hesitant to shoot the last couple of games. If open, he needs to be shooting. Decent Defender. Not sure what the staff thought he would bring other than making some 3's.
Dixon - I wouldn't be shocked if Dixon ends up being better than Evans towards the end of the year.
Stevenson - Withers 2.0 - Some great plays and some boneheaded mistakes. If he can rebound, defend and make a few 3's, we'll take it.
Veesaar - Has been better than I expected. Great addition. Will probably get abused by bigger, stronger 5's, but will take the good with the bad.
Young - Probably shouldn't see the court. He's been a TO machine and terrible on defense.
Powell - Up and down as expected. If he can make a couple 3's each game, that's what we need from him.
High/ Brown - They both just need to play defense and rebound. High is fouling at a higher rate than sophomore year Hicks, which seems impossible. He just plays too recklessly. I'd personally rather see Brown if he can learn how to not move on screens.
Obviously need Seth back - he makes the defense so much better. I'd really like to see us not switch if Veesaar if in the game. He keeps ending up on the 6'-1" pg and is going to get worked.
I think this is a Top15 team, but not yet. Without Seth, we'll lose a few of the upcoming games. Hoping Navy was an outlier as the team had seemed pretty cohesive in the previous games.
