It's depressing that Carolina Basketball has reached this point and there's no easy way to fix it

This is the really scarry part. It's depressing that Carolina Basketball has reached this point and there's no easy way to fix it
No, it's also coaching. Or really lack of it. Hubert simply has not coached any type of offense since he has been the head coach, and the switching man to man doesn't work, at least not with this team when you have a smaller lineup.NIL, NIL, NIL is the answer.
No money no players.
It's not the coaching. It's NIL money that we don't have to give away.
I’m not going to pretend like a message board in and of itself has any bearing on something like a coaching change decision, but that level of angst is at least indicative that most of the fans are fed up with the situation, which imo does matter.Tonight might set a new record for “Hubert needs to go” threads on IC.
It always does strike me as as funny how many of those threads get started. Like 40 posters over there are thinking at one time, “I’ve got a new idea that I should bring up in a new thread.”
I really needed this team to help me take my mind off of politics this year.
Thanks a bunch, Hubert. At this point, I may need to start paying more attention to Trump 2.0 just to stop thinking about UNC basketball.
Fuck this fucking bullshit. Fuck all of it.
I do agree with some of what you said. Coaching maybe is a little of it but as Roy always said, "I can't put the ball in the basket". RJ has been terrible this year. I'd bet he got a huge NIL deal to get him to stay this year. Hubert needs to zone some because of our height. He's stubborn on this just like Roy was.No, it's also coaching. Or really lack of it. Hubert simply has not coached any type of offense since he has been the head coach, and the switching man to man doesn't work, at least not with this team when you have a smaller lineup.
It’s been confirmed repeatedly by people that report on the program that NIL has not been the limiting factor for a lot of our recruiting misses. Does Wake Forest spend more NIL money than we do? Does Stanford? It’s crazy to me that some of you can watch our games and come away thinking that the coaching isn’t a big part of the problem lol.NIL, NIL, NIL is the answer.
No money no players.
It's not the coaching. It's NIL money that we don't have to give away.
I hate this monster that has been unleashed on college sports.
The football news is fool’s gold. We’ll have Belichick for 5 years, max. And with any actual success, it will be less than that. We’re a waystation until another NFL team comes calling. And if they don’t, it means he didn’t have enough success here.I'm actually glad there's a bunch of football news with Bilichick that's kept me from paying too much attention to the men's basketball team - that and the women's team looks pretty good this season
I’d take the over. I’m thinking 12.10 conference wins is going to be a real challenge.
Yeah but that a win for UNC football. The football news is fool’s gold. We’ll have Belichick for 5 years, max. And with any actual success, it will be less than that. We’re a waystation until another NFL team comes calling. And if they don’t, it means he didn’t have enough success here.
Belichick isn’t going to “build” a program. Best case scenario is he’ll make us relevant for a few years, and then we’ll be back to mediocrity after.
He should get another season if for no other reason than who is and the kind of man he is.He shouldn’t get another season, but he will. This team has NCAA tournament-type talent, but is only receiving NIT-type coaching.
Bubba needs to tell Roy and the alumni, “Okay, we tried it your way, and it blew up in our face. Now, we do it my way.”
National coaching search. Outside of “the family.” That’s the only way this gets fixed.
He should get another season if for no other reason than who is and the kind of man he is.
It’s also not a great look to fire coaches after 4 years, particularly ones with a title game and conference regular season crown in 2 of those years.
I could actually see Hubert resigning after another season sub par season.
Why does that confuse you?
You don't keep a coach that isn't working out just because he's a nice guy.Why does that confuse you?
Disagree. A win last night combined with a decent stretch would have kept things interesting. They have to find 68 teams to fill out the field. The season effectively ended on Saturday. A win last night was only delaying the inevitable
That’s not what I said. Read it again. You don't keep a coach that isn't working out just because he's a nice guy.
