I suppose there's no reason the thread has to be about Bubba himself. Anyone can share their colonoscopy stories here. My wife just had one. It was unpleasant. Carry on.

My appointment was 9am. I took round 1 of meds at noon the day before, and round 2 around 6pm... was supposed to be 8pm, but round 1 didn't do much and I was freaked out the meds weren't working. The worst of it was done by 10pm IIRC... with an occasional after-spurt for another 2 hours. I slept off at midnight with no problems through the night. For the sake of sleep, I'd recommend an afternoon exam. Better to be crapping your brains out hourly during the day rather than at 2am, 3am, 4am....
I need to chat with my doc then! My round 2 meds were midnite. My appointment was 9am. Neither was much fun for me. I had a colonoscopy about 20 years ago due to ongoing digestive issues and woke up during the procedure...The prep is no fun. The actual test itself is... well, I don't remember it, so not bad at all.

Truth be told, after my night's sleep I still went twice more that morning before I left, then again once at the clinic. I actually walked to the clinic (1 mile) in the morning. I took a spare pair of shorts and undies in a backpack just in case things went sideways on the way there... but no problems. The first one I had, they sent me to the pharmacy with a prescription for a jug of white lightening. I remember it was grueling and I was shocked everty 10 to 15 minutes. No way, impossible, not again. But it was over in an hour and a half.
My recent second one, no white lightening. They told me just to get over the counter dulcolax and a big powder bottle of miralax. Forgot how many dulcolax I took at 6 pm. Then, I had mixed the huge bottle of miaralax powder in 2 Gatorade jugs. Was supposed to drink one full jug by cups every 40 minutes until gone. Then wake up at 4am and do same with second jug. Procedure was at noon.
Nurse told me best thing to do was drink all mixture in one attempt (30 mins apart) from 5pm until done, about 10:30.
Well, nothing "started: until midnight and went through most of the night. I literally went again just before my required driver picked me up.
I can only imagine how procedure went and I don't want to know. That was on them, literally, I am sure.
Stupid system and change.
The night before mine, my mom told me how her first time she was conscious but unable to speak the whole time... VERY unpleasant, she said. What kind of mom sends you in with that on your mind??? I must have been a bad son that month leading up to it.Neither was much fun for me. I had a colonscopy about 20 years ago due to ongoing digestive issues and woke up during the procedure...
NEVER MIND!!!I'm in my early 30's so colonoscopy is still a ways away for me (hopefully), but in solidarrity with BubbaOtis and this thread topic, I did just sit through watching the Atlanta Braves blow an 8th inning lead at home to the Mets with a playoff berth hanging squarely in the balance, so I can kind of relate....
