To me, they didn’t seem to have the greatest confidence that the person of interest in custody is indeed the shooter. Perhaps being cautious after taking in the wrong guy earlier.

With regards to this assassination, I grieve for his loved ones. I would hope these types of senseless deaths would continue to push us towards the civilized world of 1st world countries that have sensible gun laws, but I am sure the opposite will be true. The actual people who are calling for a civil war and stock piling guns and ammo will be as psychotic as this killer. How can any actual patriot be happy about any of this?

No, he was very active in that thread distracting from any mention that the assassin was maga. He was adamant that we not rush to conclusions and wait for the facts. Even a week later he was still saying how important it was to wait for more facts.

I’m sure he’s behaved the exact same in this thread - a level headed seeker of truth. No way he’d switch it up and be a reactionary twat. He’s always consistent.

My favorite part is two faced acquaintances showing their true face....as if this kirk dude was some bastion of truth, empathy and kindness.
 
I hated Charlie Kirk. He was the Fascist Right’s favorite conduit to our youth, funded and backed by the world’s most malevolent forces - greedmeisters, White/Jewish supremacists and assorted other bigots (don’t ever complain to me about “woke”-ists).

But his invidious grift is a time-tested one, stretching all the way back to the muckrakers and pamphleteers but amped up on the morbid excesses of a brave new culture.

Following the coverage and commentary of this tragic act today made me feel ashamed of my feelings toward a fellow human who stumbled upon a lucrative hustle, a real measure of success in this vapid, nihilistic era. I am forced to recognize my own acquiescence to and participation in a culture of hate.

We all need to remember not to hate the player; hate the game.

I definitely eye rolled at the thread saying "assassinated". It brings to mind the Chris Rock bit about the deaths of Tupac Shakur and Chris Wallace.
 
A poster on the old ZZL just wished death on another poster and his family in their version of this thread. That dumpster fire of a board needs to be eradicated.

Kirk was shot at the very minute he was blaming trans shooters and gang violence. I wonder if the person in the audience asking those questions was in on it.

He used racism, bigotry and hate for his hustle, though. Not agreeing with evil and fighting it isn't hate. I don't want violence to be the answer, though. It probably wouldn't work anyway. But if someone is okay with being a terrible person and using hate to grift others, that's not just the game that is the problem. That person is choosing to spread hate on others just for being a person of color, or gay, or trans. They are spreading hate for people just because of who they are, not for anything they have done or how they have treated others.
