We’ll do almost anything for our kids.Lets just say I have a particular vested interest for Duke basketball to do well til May '27. Aligned incentives.

Here’s a memory from that time: “I spent two years teaching at that school in Durham – a fluke of a thing I often think but out of which I bring several instructive memories. The first is one of sheer numbers -- in four semesters teaching a total of approximately 360 undergraduates – exactly THREE were North Carolinians. Make of that what you will but it does make one wonder why the place would have any North Carolina-born backers. I also remember that of the staff that I met there I noted that but one was an actual fan of the teams of their employer while the rest looked a few miles west down 15-501 for a team with which they could identify. Several faculty confided in me their allegiance to a lighter shade of blue as well. It is quite a stuffy faux-gothic place after all.4 years???
Maybe a kid attending Duke?
You know the rivalry is only for sports, my daughter spent some time and Duke hospital and they were great.
Yes, I have a son at Duke…now go a step further…a big step.4 years???

A private school with a geographically diverse student body??! GASPI’ve been razzed about it endlessly but I taught at Duke for two years after I finished up at Carolina.

One of my first tasks upon arriving on that campus to teach was acquiring a parking pass. Without thinking much on it, I got the directions to the proper outpost, paid my money, and was handed an envelope. Opening the envelope as I exited the building I pulled forth the much needed tag only to be stunned by its sheer dookiness…the logo an ugly blocky dark blue ‘D.’ No way that nasty design was going on the window of my car and have the world thinking I held any such identification -- I went back in and explained (here I met staff with similar sentiments) and was issued a special, hang-it-on-your-rearview-mirror permit. That sucker lived in my glove compartment for all save the hours I was parked on that campus though I admit that in a rush a few times I forgot to put it on display and was ticketed – every dollar worth the alternative that I might be mistaken for a dookie on the highways and byways of the Tar Heel State.”
Well, he has admitted to his mental health struggles over the years and has been very open about the steps he has taken to get better.Dan Hurley is a mentally ill psycho. His behavior, in almost every single game I’ve ever watched of theirs, is completely and totally unhinged. He should be ejected from every single game. He is infinitely more unlikable than Coach K ever was (don’t @ me).
Then he needs to keep on getting better, and perhaps consider stepping away from the basketball court while he is doing so. His behavior is completely and utterly deranged- far beyond the pale of anything that should be acceptable. I am far from being a prude- I routinely use language that would make the most seasoned sailor blush- and it is not the foul language that bothers me in the slightest about Hurley. It’s the complete and total loss of control over and over and over on the sidelines all throughout the game. It’s humiliating and embarrassing that anyone tolerates it- his AD, his school president, his conference commissioner, anyone.Well, he has admitted to his mental health struggles over the years and has been very open about the steps he has taken to get better.
He is infinitely more likable than Coach K, who would never admit such a thing.
Anouncers said that UCONN is missing 3 starters. They still look pretty good.UConn v Memphis game is entertaining but super physical.
Huskies have 41.2 to complete a comeback
