That kick while on the floor was pretty clear. Should it have been a Flagrant 2 instead of a 1? Guessing that it was contact to the head that pushed it over.
Dickinson looks pretty serene; knows he screwed up.

I was surprised he refs did the upgrade but am not intending to defend Dickinson. I thought he clearly was trying to Laettner his opponent there.

Meanwhile Dayton may have just cost themselves the game with a Flagrant 1 with 44 seconds left (very hard foul that deserved the Flagrant 1 upgrade). 4-point possession for ISU leads to a 4-point lead for the Cyclones with 26.8 left.

Meanwhile, ISU and Dayton tied 79-79 with 2:36 to go.
The Auburn site had a preview of our game and mentioned that both Auburn and UNC had big comebacks last night, but insisted that Auburn's win was way more impressive because Iowa State is way better than Dayton. To my eye, Iowa State and Dayton look to be equal teams.

I’m not comparing the plays last night to the Dickinson kick, apples to apples, but the message for Cadeau and Washington and anyone else should be clear by now — the cameras don’t miss a thing. And your frustration is only going to hurt your team.

Yep

Man, I don't know how you folks in the Eastern time zone handle these 11:30 PM tipoffs. I'm in CT and it's barely 10 PM and I am barely staying awake. Central time zone for sports may be quite litrerally the only thing I miss about here when I move back to NC next summer.

ISU wins. Dayton and UConn will play tomorrow to see who walks away from Maui with three tough losses.

Meanwhile, KU is trying to grit their way to a win but not sure they can hold off DU.

They looked pretty average against Kentucky. And Kansas in Vegas is a heck of lot easier than Lawrence (especially without Dickson). And they are down by 4 with 3:33 to play, so I am not sure how good Duke is this year.
Trust me, I hope you are right and I am wrong!

Over 25-years of late night negotiations, middle of the night conference calls for overseas deals and other transactional work has me well trained for these hours, but the older I get, the tougher it gets. As a young pup I pulled a lot of all-nighters and just frankly stupid shifts in excess of 24-hours — and at one point went over 7 months straight without a day (even a weekend day) off. That would straight kill me pretty quickly now.

I'm in Miami this week...and really struggling with these late games.

I pulled a 72 hour day in my first year. And then drove home. Which was wildly stupid. And I don't think I could even stay up past 3 AM any more.

Fortunately, California time is even better than Central time for these Hawaii games.

73-72 KU — and Flagg turns it over trying to force a move in traffic

But KU misses the shot. 14.2 seconds and timeout with DU in possession down 1

Yeah, I never did that many — tapped out at about 50, but did a deal where I slept an hour at a time on a lawn chair for several days in a row and then drove home. I fell nearly asleep at a stop light. So very stupid.
