Man, FSU and Bama have certainly gone in different directions since that season opener.

Because SEC teams improve with the grind. It happens every year. ACC teams look good, shoot their wad 3 games in, get soft against a horrible league, and go limp dick in the postseason.

For the record, I loathe the SEC so it isnt about me cheering them on.

So unbelievably shortsighted and knee jerk by Penn State, in my opinion. They were in the freaking playoffs last year. That is a program that does not understand its place in the Big Ten pecking order. Franklin had them competing at exactly where a program like theirs should be competing (this season not withstanding, of course). Penn State thinks this is still 1980 and Joe Paterno is still on the sideline.
