I saw that it was for inappropriate relations with a staff member. I don’t know if that was someone just speculating or just posting without a source.

Michigan has fired coach Sherrone Moore following an investigation that found "credible evidence" he was engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a staff member.

"This conduct constitutes a clear violation of University policy, and U-M maintains zero tolerance for such behavior," athletic director Warde Manuel said in a statement Wednesday.

Biff Poggi was named interim coach.

Michigan went 9-3 this season and finished ranked 18th in the College Football Playoff rankings.

Overall, Moore went 18-8 as the team's coach after replacing Jim Harbaugh.

You know, I feel a kinship with Michigan Football as a Carolina Football fan. Both programs seem to have whatever success they have in spite of themselves.

Of course, Michigan is a lot better at it than we are. :ROFLMAO:

This is kinda best case scenario for Michigan lol. Sherrone Moore was not a very good head coach and was probably gone in the next year or two anyway, now they get a clean break without having to pay a buyout.
I was thinking the same thing but his contract is kind of tiny in the world of Big Time college football. Michigan was paying him a 500,000 base and a deal loaded with incentives worth about $3M-$5M if he won things like the conference championship or made the playoffs.

I don't think Michigan will be getting a big time coach anytime soon with those numbers. That affair probably cost Moore a few million per year but it might end up costing Michigan $10 million per year if they go after a big name. On the other hand, Moore is an example of what happens when you try to go cheap.

So the Michigan schools like to fire their African American coaches for cause. Interesting.
??? They kept Juwan Howard around after he hit a guy. I have to think they had cause to fire him but they didn't cut ties with them until he had two bad seasons.

It’s all like the lobbyists in DC that run the country and get us to talk about shit like gerrymandering and such!?! We’re fucking owned and operated by corporate “corporations are people too” Supreme Court, Congress, Senate and Presidency!?! No wonder young folks are skeptical of this country and government!?! I’m personally with Rainbow Randy in this recent episode. I don’t know how to clip it but fast forward to 2:30 and he sings it! “It’s beginning to look like fuck this!”

Yeah. You are right. I reread it. I thought you said Michigan but then I saw Michigan schools.
It is extremely rare to fire a P4 coach for cause. To have two coaches fired for cause in the same state by the main two schools, and for both of those coaches to be minorities, is at least a little eyebrow raising.

It’s cold in Michigan a lot of the year, you gotta find your warmth & fun where you can.

I can't imagine a racist motive that is somehow exclusive to football programs at large universities in Michigan just like I can't imagine a racial motive for hiring them in the first place. I can imagine a financial motive. But in Michigan State's case, I think it was a public relations motive.
