So one company claiming to move labor means all the economist are wrong?

Plus, if this company spends the money it takes to move, do people think that their prices will come down? There's no way the cost comes down with the additional labor and capital to move.
Tell me you didn't watch without telling me you didn't watch. ;)

I stopped when she claimed the actions of one company proved the point.

That and I've already read and listened to multiple economist on this topic.

They pretty much all said that tariffs have a place, but if implemented as trump described they would hurt the economy.

So, is this woman an economist?
Does she give more that one example?
Does she explain that the cost of moving operations will be factored into the product cost, just as the increase in labor cost will be passed on?

Is the point that a few factor job will return or does she try to argue that this will decrease cost?

Would anyone other than someone trying to justify trumps plan actually get anything out of the video?

My time is valuable, if you ensure that it will prove every economist I've read and listened to wrong and make me want 50% tariffs, then I'll

My sister went to a couple car dealerships today as she is looking to get a new car. Both places mentioned buy soon before tariffs hit. These are pretty much R leaning businesses, not?

You get your news and analysis from random youtubers and you expect us to watch? GFY. You are the problem.
On the whole no. I was originally posting that in response to someone who I assume doesn't likely get their news and analysis from sources similar to myself or you. Don't take that as putting myself on par with you either. Yes I do watch the channel and I'm not ashamed to own that. I guess GFY back?

Can you answer my questions I'm really debating watching the video or the Hallmark movie my daughter started.

So far Hallmark is winning.

Watch the movie.

" if you ensure that it will prove every economist I've read and listened to wrong and make me want 50% tariffs,"

it surely won't do that.

I watched one minute of that drivel. If I had linked to that approvingly I would hide my head in a bag for a year.

First, no companies are moving production to America. Zero companies have announced that. So she's just wrong, and probably too stupid to realize that she' wrong. Second, she said, "President Trump knows what he's doing." That's when I turn off the video.

Nice answer, thanks for the laugh.

That was actually a typo, I meant to type 20%, but either way...

Maybe I'll give it another chance...

Would you hide your head in a bag if you were wrong about the intent of the video? Because you are. You're basically arguing what the video says. You turned off the video at the end of her reading a comment from a trump supporter. She literally says she has a message before reading it. Maybe she isn't clear on that, I'd have to watch it again.

I didn't post this video from a place of supporting trump since I very much do not. It was intended for Ramrouser since they seemed to be doing the same thing the trump supporter who messaged her did. I shouldn't even defend the post though being your response probably does a better job of getting the people I want to watch to watch it anyway. I'd bet Ramrouser didn't though. Maybe a heelyeah will now though just to get a laugh out of this exchange.

Have good rest of your evening peoples. Hope the hallmark movie is lovely.

There is absolutely nothing in the first minute of that video to suggest that she's doing anything but expressing her own views. She starts the video by saying she was wrong about tariffs and Trump was right. If she wanted to express that she was presenting someone else's views, she did a terrible, terrible job of it.

good channel, non sensational, would recommend.

Ok, once the Halmark movie was over and I finished my daily Wordle and other games, I somehow ended up back on this thread. So, I watched the video.

I was wrong. I will admit that I did not watch enough or listen well enough to make the judgement that I did.

Please forgive me, I'll go better....

In all seriousness, everyone should actually watch the video before commenting. It is not what I thought. Maybe I let my bias set in and influence me before I got far enough in to understand it the first time.

No, it's not your fault. This woman went over one minute without making clear what she was trying to say. Worse, she spent most of that time articulating the opposite position. Well, guess what? If you spend the first minute of your video apologizing for having been wrong about Trump's tariffs, and then you delve into a 45 second speech about why Trump is great, then people will probably conclude that you're arguing Trump is great. That's her fault and her fault only.

I used to teach my students that they had about 15-20 seconds, or 2-3 sentences, to get their audience's attention. If they don't tell the audience what this is going to be about, they should expect the audience to tune out. That's reality.

In a world of chatGPT, there is no excuse at all for basic failures of communication. Always give your audience a road map and tell them your main points up front so they can listen or read your argument with purpose. This is why I number my points when posting. And you'll probably notice that every numbered point begins with a statement of the main point, which is then further expounded upon in the remaining text.
