This does not mean what you think it means and you embarrass yourself whenever you get on one of your melanin kicks.
Actually, I'm pretty sure it does in this situation, which is to say that the imaginary construct we call race can't possibly impact one's ability to get an ID.... Because it's imaginary. We're all just humans and, to my knowledge, there's no "ID deficiency" gene.

They stole the Kit Kats in Europe. I’m guessing the shipping costs to send them to American high school kids would eat into the profits.
Yeah, but European chocolate is much better than American chocolate. It’s a premium product, like Colombian cocaine.

The difference in resale value more than makes up for the shipping costs.

No but there are ID deficiency life experiences, like Jim Crow.

Race is very much a social reality. When people tell you that it is a construct, what they mean is that there are few genetic differences between members of different racial groups. But there are powerful social differences and there have been for hundreds of years. That's why race is in fact a reality, which is what everyone knows.

Even if race is a social reality, you're telling me laws that ended in the mid 60's means that people with high melanin levels are incapable of getting an ID in 2026?

Have you ever told a higher-melanin level person this belief to their face?

Just as a point of interest, around 1950, before America had to be made great again, about a third of Americans didn't have birth certificates. That would seem to indicate that it's the Republican's increasing demands for documentation and regimentation is what led to the ruination of America. Doesn't that follow?

See how easy it is to vote ? You just have to plan ahead

I plan to bring:
my driver's license photo ID
my birth certificate
my passport
my social security card
a history of voting since 1972

and my ace in the hole is the poll worker will see I am a white guy

I am confident I will be allowed to vote :)

The problem isn’t direct (as often) it’s structural. States in the south have systematically closed DMVs in neighborhoods populated by higher concentrations of people with that higher melanin content. For example:

That doesn’t make people “incapable” of getting IDs but it does make it much harder, and those that don’t have a car and thus don’t drive wouldn’t go out of their way to get an ID that is inaccessible to them via public transit.

Her situation has nothing to do with the amount of melanin in her skin. It has to do with the fact that she was born at home and never got a birth certificate. That is not unique to people over X amount of melanin.

Yes, there needs to be away to address that situation.
