CBS Paramount caving in some more. Bending over and adding lube
Nah. Why the hell would Trump care about Colbert? If there's any late night host he hates, it's Kimmel. The late night market is pretty bad. Trump killed it. Now the jokes are mostly just depressing.

“The announcement came two days after Colbert spoke out against Paramount Global, parent company of his network CBS, settling with President Donald Trump over a “60 Minutes” story.
“I am offended,” Colbert said in his monologue Monday night. “I don’t know if anything — anything — will repair my trust in this company. But, just taking a stab at it, I’d say $16 million would help.”

He said the technical name in legal circles for the deal was “big fat bribe.”

I’m usually pretty good with counties in NC but I can never keep it straight with Morganton, Lenoir, and Marion and which one is in McDowell, Burke, or Caldwell county. All those foothills counties just run together in my brain.
i’m from burke county…that’s morganton (and Valdese)
Marion is Mcdowell
Lenoir is caldwell
they all suck

So tacky.

I love how Rubio and the grey-haired man are mimicking Trump’s sitting style -leaning forward, hands in lap. The gentleman from Bahrain has his hands in his lap, but he’s leaning back in the chair.

I wonder if Rubio even knows he is doing this.

Republicans on Senate Panel Vote to Advance Bove’s Nomination After Democrats Storm Out

An even more intense battle is expected on the Senate floor over the nomination of a Trump immigration policy enforcer to a lifetime judicial post.

“… Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee unanimously approved the nomination after Democrats stormed out in protest when the panel’s chairman, Senator Charles E. Grassley, called the roll before every Democrat on the committee had a chance to air their objections.

“Sir, this lacks decency,” said Senator Cory Booker, a New Jersey Democrat, his voice raised and visibly agitated. “It lacks decorum. It shows that you do not want to simply hear from your colleagues. This is absolutely wrong!”

Mr. Grassley ignored him and plowed on. In a voice vote, committee Republicans voted to confirm Mr. Bove, 44, to a lifetime appointment on the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, which encompasses Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. …”

Wouldn't mind him back on the Daily Show
Unlikely since Paramount Global (soon Skydance) owns both CBS and Comedy Central. If the decision is political, it is unlikely a Trump ally would want Colbert on Comedy Central.

The U.S. Justice Department has asked a federal judge to sentence a former Louisville police officer who was convicted last year of violating Breonna Taylor's civil rights to serve just one day in prison, despite the fact the conviction carries a maximum sentence of life in prison.
In a court filing, the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division late on Wednesday downplayed the conviction of former Louisville police officer Brett Hankison, noting he "did not shoot Ms. Taylor and is not otherwise responsible for her death."

[the article says that in China, a kindergarten is what we would call pre-school or daycare — kids 3-5 years old]

“… After briefly considering a career as a vlogger, she [a laid off kindergarten teacher] is now thinking about applying for jobs at nursing homes, a growth industry in an aging China. “I need to be realistic and find a stable job,” she said.…”

I watched this charade yesterday. Absolute clown show. The current republican party is a damn circus.
