Trump is extremely agitated …

[Reportedly, Schumer was demanding that the Trump Admin release funding allocated by Congress in exchange for ending delays on appointments, leveraging the pressure within the Senate GOP caucus to start their August recess to try to get some concessions on impounded funds.]

Calla, Ram and their ilk are perfectly content getting roasted by Russia in a WW3 scenario, as long as their lord and savior Donald J. Trump got us into it.
That's overstating it a bit.

The reality is that if we get into WW3 with Russia under Trump, the cult will blame Russia, while if it had happened under Biden, the cult would have blamed Biden.

How’s ending the Russo-Ukraine War going for Trump? That “I can end it in 24-hours” war?

Or Gaza?

Starting a trade war with the world epitomizes peace.

Trump is having a Neill McGeachy-type year…….not a Rooseveltesque one.
Upvote for the Neill McGeachy reference.

Nobody even knows or gets what TACO means except online leftists. Also who TACO’d Trump or the EU/GB. Von der Leyen and Starmer traveled to his Golf resort to kiss his ring after they caved. Don’t understand why you don’t pull for the USA.
TACO was coined by finance bros. Try again.

The term was first used by Financial Timesjournalist Robert Armstrong in a May 2, 2025 opinion piece that discussed tariffs and their effects on the US markets.[20] In the piece, part of a series titled "Unhedged", Armstrong said that markets were realizing that "the US administration does not have a very high tolerance for market and economic pressure, and will be quick to back off when tariffs cause pain". Armstrong called this "the Taco theory: Trump Always Chickens Out".[21][22]

A little hyperbole but definitely not a leftist.

Does Ted Cruz have a brain worm? Because however awful he has always been, he didn’t seem to be this stupid.

My theory is that he is trying to emulate how he thinks MAGA voters think (trying not to appear like the private HS valedictorian Princeton educated debate team national champion Harvard Law Review editor “elitist” he is to them), but for a guy with a resume that screams high IQ, he suffers from a substandard emotional IQ, so struggles to empathize with or understand others, including MAGA. So his attempts to play shit-posting MAGA bro (and honestly sometimes just to seem human) often are a needle scratch of obvious disingenuous cosplay.

It’s actually interesting to compare the Ted Cruz shit posting oeuvre to VP JD Vance’s relatively new MAGA shit posting transformation. Vance is also a very smart guy but unlike Cruz (who was born in Calgary to two college educated math majors working in the oil industry and grew up in Houston going to private schools), Vance comes from a more hardscrabble background and is an accomplished author about that experience. So Vance grew up in Ohio middle class (and the fall from that with his mom’s addiction problems) and KY Appalachia, so by experience is much more comfortable communicating with MAGA.

Where Vance the Trump shit poster version, seems to trip himself up is when he translates MAGA shit posting into intellectual trolling targeting media and other political / intellectual elites. That’s where he originally found his footing as anti-Trump MAGA translator for the confounded national media, but for Vance 2.0 that’s where a lot of the details of political talking points from any perspective tend to fall apart. Vance 1.0 positioned himself as MAGA whisperer for mainstream media and conservative money men trying to figure out how to harness Trump’s populist movement. Vance 2.0 is where the desire of the working class striver to forswear his origins and be accepted as an equal by those “elites” he both admires and resents sometimes (as well as his desire to please Trump) overwhelms his logic circuits and where he comes off as a disingenuous toady.

Vance is a bright guy who is super-accomplished at a super young age but in part to do so he serves two masters (Trump and Peter Thiel) whose goals often overlap but don’t always align. To do so, Vance has done a complete 180 in a decade, reinventing himself first with the Vance 1.0 persona that initially brought him fame (up by his bootstraps Hillbilly Elegy author and anti-Trump conservative intellectual) and Thiel as a backer, and then reinventing himself a second time as shit-posting Trump toady insider. Vance 2.0 comes complete with providing the bullied mensch laughtrack to Trump’s jokes and attacks in public meetings while promoting himself behind the scenes as a calming influence and conduit for serious communication with the Administration (proving himself VERY valuable to Thiel and Palantir).

For his part, Cruz has also been a super-high achiever at a very young age, but his punchable demeanor seems to have caused him to stall out in a very safe Senate seat. Like Vance in Ohio, he has underperformed in terms of safe red seat voting support in winning/holding his safe seat in Texas. And like Vance (and Rubio), he has contorted himself as Trump toady even as he must loathe Trump for beating back his own presidential aspirations (and humiliating Cruz repeatedly in the process).

Anyway, sorry for the ramble.
