I wrote a moderately lengthy post this AM addressing this same sentiment, but deleted it. IMO, this hyper gerrymandering is the event that puts the US in an uncorrectable death spiral.

This country was founded on the demand for representation. While it’s never met its lofty founding rhetoric, enough people tried (and incrementally won) that the US became a model. That model has been upended, most just won’t know it until the fuckery that is coming down the pike in ‘26.

This isn’t a country of serfs willing to accept the spoils of “benevolent” overlords - at least I don’t think it is - and I’m confident Trump, miller, vought, and Hegseth are itching at the opportunity for mass deployment.
