We will see. I keep saying, if Trump tanks the economy as badly as he has been doing already, it's going to be a bloodbath in the 2026 elections. There are going to be many Pubs surprised at what is waiting for them. And then we will see a supermajority in 2028.

I am also afraid of Trump's anti-election bullshit but his power to affect elections is quite limited. He'd have a better chance dissolving Congress, but that would be risky.

I really wish this was the case. After 3 weeks of straight destruction, it will be quite easy for trump and elon to guide the next election. There is no one, not a single person stopping them. Elon already did the last one with non-stop X propaganda. I'm telling you, blue votes could be 70%, and the Pubs will "win." We are in disaster territory. Just watch and prepare.

They are not all that way. I wouldn’t even say the majority are.

Most are just people who started watching Fox News twenty years ago because it spoke to their political beliefs. Fox began influencing them more and more and when Trump rose to power they were completely brainwashed into the cult.

They’re not all horrible people just as those who followed Jim Jones are not all horrible people.

Some of them are just rich and greedy. Some of them are just stupid. But the majority of them are horrible people when it comes down to it.

Yes, I fully agree. But very easily manipulated, and nearly impossible to reverse course.

I think we are all fucked, for this very reason.

The truth is well between these two extremes. We don’t have a dictator yet (the courts are still standing in the way, even if Congress isn’t) but what is happening now isn’t “normal” in any sense of the word.

The courts have the appearance of standing in the way. Trump will be ignoring court orders quite substantially over the next year. Watch

There is a difference between predicting where we will be in the future and observing where we are today.

Personally I think extreme predictions like those set out in the OP are one of the reasons why the Trump “resistance” failed the first time. Too many genuine, but overwrought, predictions about immediate dictatorship that made it seem, when Trump didn’t literally name himself emperor like things really weren’t all that bad.

Trump is doing a lot of bad and crazy stuff that we can talk about on its merits. We don’t need to spend as much time hyperventilating about what’s coming next. Focus on the bad stuff happening now and how to stop it, not dire predictions.

Fair. How do we stop the bad stuff happening right now? I am watching where we are currently, and I don't see anyone actually stopping anything. That leads me to doomsday thoughts. Fingers crossed someone does something.

What does that mean, replied in Silence Dogood's voice. I can assure you I hate Silence and Scientific. If they were on fire, I would not piss on them. No need to sleuth further, you just need to be the long-winded smartypants we all know and love
