WJZY (Fox affiliate) in Charlotte is Nexstar.

But Fox doesn’t broadcast Kimmel so for this topic it’s irrelevant.
Interestingly, that station doesn’t brand itself as Fox Charlotte or use Fox branding at all. They bill themselves as Queen City News and tend to use Newsnation rather than Fox correspondents when they do national stories on the local news.

MAGA's not the cause of the loss of commonality among Americans. Everybody is now their own editor of the media/news/entertainment they choose to consume. Today, every major news event, like the Kirk assassination, has us running to our respective corners. Kimmel and Colbert deliberately chose to tailor and target their comedy to only 50% of the country so it should not be that surprising that the stations serving that portion of the country decide not to carry the show.
Sports is one of our only remining common denominators.

He tried to rob the bank with a fake gun and a note...that said "we can do this the easy way or the hard way"
They immediately started giving the man money... after realizing that the gun was fake and that their patrons saw them as bitches, the bank stopped giving money to the man with the note.
So the bank didn't HAVE to give then the money, small harm no foul... they really just gave that guy gift right?

But the totals add up when you add Nexstar, which has more northeastern and midwestern stations.

Right, and that's because of MAGA and its ancestors. Once upon a time, conservatives and liberals could be respectful of one another. The New York Times was center left, the WaPo was center center and the WSJ center right. Typically they weren't doubting the others' reporting. Then Limbaugh came along with his conspiracies about leftists who hate America. "What the New York Times won't tell you . .. " or "libruls are so stupid . . " etc. And suddenly the commonality was broken. Limbaugh was telling them not to trust the major news networks, because they were all biased.
Very soon, the conservative media engine kicked into gear. It was the age of Ann Coulter's screeds and an endless array of books about how innocent white Americans were just getting screwed over from all directions. Particularly popular was the apostate narrative -- I used to be a liberal, but now it disgusts me (e.g. David Horowitz).
Then of course Fox News and its bizarre reality distortions. And the "news outlets" even to the right. These "news" sources do not even attempt to report on reality. Between all the conspiracy theories and GOP sucking-off, the reality that you folks experience is unlike that experienced by anyone else in the world, save possible stout Leavers.
It is not a "both sides moving away" and here's how to prove it: it's your side attacking universities and knowledge. Your world view is fundamentally at odds with actual science. That makes you the problem; the rest of us are under no obligation to give credence to your bullshit preconceptions. Global warming has occurred pretty much as the models predicted and it is going to get worse. Human sexuality and gender identity are fluid, scientifically speaking. The Earth is not 7000 years old or whatever. These are facts. It's your rejection of the facts that causes scientists everywhere to be liberal; indeed, educated people everywhere have become liberal. And then, instead of realizing your errors, you decide to attack those scientists and muzzle them/cut off funding.
All of the fundamental divisions in America are the fault of the political communities who are now on the right. The most important divisive group are the white southerners, who were slavers, then Democrats (many were New Dealers), then Republicans, now MAGA. The political geography of the nation is unchanged south of the Mason Dixon line since the Civil War. All the other states have repositioned relative to each other. New England was once solidly moderate Republican; now there are almost no Republicans left. California used to be Republican, and then it became liberal, along with Oregon and Washington. Meanwhile, Wisconsin used to be liberal but is now slightly right of center. Same with Michigan. Iowa was democratic, then bipartisan, and now MAGA.
So the non-southern states have moved around in their alliances. The South remains unchanged. What does that tell you about who is causing the division?

Interesting. The Queen City News is a new(ish) thing. When the Panthers game in Jacksonville had a weather delay, the ticker said that the game would resume on Queen City News, and I thought “what the hell is Queen City News?” Now it makes sense.
It did used to be FOX Charlotte, but perhaps too many folks living in a blue city didn’t trust news coming from something branded as FOX, so maybe they made a business decision.

For me it was Burger, Brennan, White, Marshall, Blackmun, Powell, Rehnquist, Stevens, and O'Connor.
