Disney and ABC will bring the comedian back to its schedule starting Tuesday night. “Last Wednesday, we made the decision to suspend production on the show to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country. It is a decision we made because we felt some of the comments were ill-timed and thus insensitive, “the company said in a statement. “We have spent the last days having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy, and after those conversations, we reached the decision to return the show on Tuesday.”

I bet he’ll say his initial comment was inappropriate/insensitive.
Zero chance. He may possibly say that it looks like the killer was not a conservative, but I doubt he says that either.

If he does say that his initial comment was insensitive, he is the biggest wuss on the planet.

Yeah, I am very curious to hear what he says in the opening monolog.
It probably isn't going to be the fiery sermon you are hoping for. My guess is that he and ABC agreed to basically more or less drop the subject. He's not going to apologize. I would be profoundly disappointed if he did. But I also doubt that he will denounce anything. He will likely make some joke about getting some vacation, and then he went on a bender and he woke up and he was like, "all this fuss about me?" Some sort of tension-defusing funny, and then he'll go back to doing his regular show.

The test will be what he says in two weeks. Will he have enough slack to continue criticizing the administration, or is his show going to go non-political. I have a feeling ABC did not reinstate him only to have his ratings tank, so who knows.

There is zero chance his show would go non-political.

I would not say zero chance. We don't have any real insight on what is happening, so we're just guessing.

I also doubt that he addresses his comments. I don't think he will walk anything back, but he will try to bury the hatchet.

If you have watched his show at all, you'd realize the impossibility of him doing a non-political show. It would be like the NFL adding a no tackling rule.
