Real talk. If shit like this doesn't give you pause, then I don't know what will.

D Vance confirms Daniel Penny will attend Army-Navy game after acquittal in subway chokehold trial

Penny was found not guilty in the May 2023 death of Jordan Neely

I will not click the link since it is from faux news.

What is the concern here? If he was tried and acquitted, then he gets to move on with his life, correct?

I didn't pay a lot of attention to that trial, but from the bit I did read, I can see where his actions could have been judged to be self-defense.

It's not like his mother purchased a gun for him, since he wasn't old enough to purchase it, then drove him to a protest in another state in order to kill a few people he disagreed with. Oh wait, that's a bad example that guy was acquitted also.

Ok, I don't know the answer here, not knowledgeable enough about the case.

Not to mention the absolute huge gravy train this is for Penny. He can now go on the grievance speaking tour and make millions.

Obviously, the potential for being sent to jail and having his name reviled by many New Yorkers (and likely receiving regular death threats) is a pretty steep price to pay for the grievance gravy train. But he likely will make more in the next five years than he would have made in his entire life before this incident.

Not even remotely true. Roosevelt won it three times. Truman won it twice. Johnson won it twice. Nixon win it twice. Reagan won it twice. Clinton won it twice. GW Bush won it twice. Obama won it twice. Since 2000, every presidential election winner has won it after in the year they won the presidential election.
True. But this is definitely the first time a slimy, repulsive orange slug has "won" it twice. Interestingly, the critter is described as slimy and savage...perfect!

What makes a person “normal”? And what does Trump have to do with common sense?
Dude lives in an alternate reality where a corrupt billionaire grifter really cares about him and others in the political cult yet has the audacity to imply that the other side is weird.

He absolutely deserves the chance to get on with his life. My issue is with the hero-fication of vigilantism.

We won the Presidency
We won the popular vote
We won the Senate - by a mile
We won the House
We have a 6-3 majority in the Supreme Court

So I ask: who is living in an alternative reality? Kamala and Waltz are the weirdos. They lost. She blew 2B of your donors’ money

I mean, the current president elect’s former vice president, a man who takes morality to some interesting extremes, has publicly denounced him, and his current vice president formerly called him a “moral disaster” and “America’s Hitler.”

Now, you may not find that weird, but will you at least acknowledge that it is a little odd? Dare I say, down right unusual?

Let’s be real. Trump ‘n Crew don’t even hide that they are grifters. They scream it from the rooftops. Drinking that amber tonic and then electing the amber president (for a second time!) strikes me as an odd choice. I just get The Duke & The King vibes every time I hear him speak. But if “strange” is preferable to “weird,” then sure. We will go with that.

Let's say you're not trolling this board because you're mentally ill.

Who is your list of "we" for and why are you telling strangers?

This was an anti-incumbency election as was the case in democratic elections across the globe due to Covid and inflation. Even with this advantage, Trump failed to win a majority of voters and his margin of victory was one of the narrowest in recent history. The small percentage of voters who determined the election voted for cheaper eggs because they don't understand how inflation works. They're going to be very disappointed.

The structure of the Senate favors Republicans because it values land instead of people. This will continue to be a struggle for Democrats.

The margin of victory in the House was the smallest in almost 100 years and would have been a Dem majority if not for Pubs' egregious gerrymandering. Control will flip back to the Dems in the midterms.

Pubs stole a seat on SCOTUS. Not exactly a secret and there isn't much Democrats can do about it at the moment.

And this time, your law partner didn’t even have to commit multiple felonies to try to overturn the lawful vote in Georgia. Winning!

No one addresses Kamala blowing 2B in 90 days and losing every single swing state. That’s the real laugher. Dems could have run a chimpanzee and a lizard with a blue hat and won the electoral college votes they won on Election Day.
