This development puts pressure on any MSM that is trying to nail down any Trump/Epstein stories. If they come out before a deal is cut with Maxwell to “exonerate” Trump (and implicate others), it might be too late for other Trump/Epstein stories to get traction.Looks like Maxwell is about to say whatever script they give her in exchange for freedom and the pedogop will let an actual child trafficker have freedom. Wins all around.
Honestly, there is bound to be a ton of hearsay and unconfirmed leads in those files that they probably should not be released regardless of the uproar. Even a genuine Warren Commission style confidential review by a trusted bipartisan panel would be a stretch (and even less effective at convincing people of their conclusions than the actual Warren Commission was in its day), but at least that would be way more fair to people mentioned in the files but never charged …It’s such a nakedly obvious and desperate last ditch ploy but it’s almost definitely going to work. And it will be both humorous and sad that the base will be totally fine with still not getting the files released that they were promised. It’s very clearly obvious at this point that Trump is in the files, otherwise the files would have been released. There’s really no debating that anymore.
I’d rather Trump not be in the files. I’d rather the president of the United States who was elected not once but twice, not be guilty of pedophile behavior in the past. I’d rather all of us who have been accusing him of being a pedophile, be wrong. I’d rather all of that smoke be completely coincidental and there be no fire. More so than anything else, I would like to be 100% wrong about him.
So if the Epstein files exonerate him the way that he and his administration claim, what’s the harm in releasing them?
The problem is proving a negative. There is no proving Trump didn't do anything illegal or immoral with Epstein. There can only be an absence of proof that he did. For many, a conspicuous absence of proof where there is so much smoke and resistance from the administration is suspicious in and of itself. The only way out may be threading a needle - releasing information embarrassing enough to suggest that's all there is, but not so bad as to cost him his job or his support. That's anathema to Trump. It's going to be fascinating, and I've got my popcorn. It’s such a nakedly obvious and desperate last ditch ploy but it’s almost definitely going to work. Dershowitz is as much of a monster as Epstein, imo. There are indeed numerous accusations by Epstein's victims of Dershowitz being a frequent customer of his underage girls, and Dershowitz has gone out of his way to rationalize the "relationships" (sexual abuse) of underage girls to much older men and present it as something totally normal. He has publicly argued that the age of consent should be lowered to 15 or even 14. He also became pissed when many of his neighbors on Martha's Vineyard snubbed him after the Epstein accusations and he became a Trumper and ranted about "cancel culture" for a good while. He's a sick and embittered dude, imo, and a definite pedophile.Dershowitz calls Ghislaine Maxwell an Epstein ‘Rosetta Stone’: ‘She knows everything’

Dershowitz calls Ghislaine Maxwell an Epstein ‘Rosetta Stone’: ‘She knows everything’
Harvard Law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz, who once represented disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, says his former client’s longtime co-conspirator, Ghislaine Maxwell, “knows everything” abo…thehill.com
“… Dershowitz said in an interview on “Fox News Sunday”… he does not see any harm in offering Maxwell “use immunity” to talk freely about the Epstein case in testimony before Congress.
“If she were just given use immunity, she could be compelled to testify. I’m told that she actually would be willing to testify, and there’d be no reason for her to withhold any information,” Dershowitz said….”

Not sure why Maxwell, who is asking SCOTUS to overturn her conviction in reliance on the Epstein co-conspirator immunity deal, would cooperate with DOJ for use immunity (immunity from future prosecution based on that testimony) even as DOJ opposes her SCOTUS appeal.
But it would be kind of hilarious if Team Trump ends up giving Maxwell her freedom in the name of transparency.
Also, as a reminder, back in 2020:
Trump doubles down on well-wishes for alleged sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell
The president’s remarks come after he drew criticism for his initial reaction to the arrest of Jeffrey Epstein’s longtime companion.
“… “Her friend, or boyfriend, was either killed or committed suicide in jail. She’s now in jail,” Trump told Axios’ Jonathan Swan in an interviewthat aired Monday night on HBO.
“Yeah, I wish her well,” he said. “I’d wish you well. I’d wish a lot of people well. Good luck. Let them prove somebody was guilty.”
The president’s latest remarks on Maxwell come after he drew significant criticism two weeks ago for his initial reaction to the news of her arrest.
“I’ve met her numerous times over the years, especially since I lived in Palm Beach, and I guess they lived in Palm Beach. But I wish her well, whatever it is,” Trump told reporters at a White House coronavirus briefing.…”
Also recall that Dershowitz is the lawyer who represented Epstein and helped negotiate his original sweetheart deal and has been the subject of direct accusations by Epstein victims.
i could b wrong but r& j only applies to under the age of 16 regardless a dozen or so is the minority of 50 states, but im speaking about the great state of NC. i would never vote for a politician who supports and doesnt vehemently oppose the age of consent being 16....i'll leave that badge of honor up to the blue and red votersBut many states (at least a dozen) have Romeo and Juliet laws so that 16 and/or 17 is not really the age of consent if there is more than a 4-5 year difference in ages.
And federal age of consent is 18.
