The problem is they aren’t using career people. This is a small group of people that the administration trusts for reasons other than their competence.
That certainly makes sense. But then you get this kind of work product.

Hope we aren’t attacked by another country in the next three years. We know the white house brain trust is neither brainy nor trusty.

They'll wait until just before this administration leaves and their major sources of information are threatened. Their spy networks here are going to be rusty.

Maybe, but I don't think so. Repeatedly, Conservatives have shown utter contempt for the routine basics of competance. Lots to fear about the Conservative Agenda, but attention to details and fine print is not on the list. Conservatives seem to believe that sort of "grunt work" is beneath them. This distain for the "grunt work" has probably saved our Republic more than once from the grandiose fever dreams of the Right.

The Trumpers don’t trust career staff to look at the Epstein documents. The only ones allowed to look are Trumplican loyalists.

And all the yellowjackets all around the world wished that, for this Christmas, Santa would sprinkle reindeer magic across the land so that the bosiders could pretend that they hadn’t been excusing Trump’s behavior all along.
