It isn't a smoking gun or a bloody knife or a lead pipe in the conservatory. It's a limp pool noodle. It's one sentence mentioning someone people don't like and those same people are wildly speculating about what it could and then therefore must mean. It's an accusation with no proof it even happened other than this girl's statement. And even if it did happen, it could be completely innocuous.

It's the same thing happening with all of these guys including Clinton and Gates and Giuliani and Sommers and anyone else that was friends with someone who was probably a fairly charismatic guy that also didn't mind donating money to causes these people cared about.

In this specific case, it's a recycled insinuation from a civil case that was settled by the executors of the Epstein estate 6 years ago. It is not part of these new document dumps. Those document dumps may indeed contain your smoking gun but let's wait till something real comes out so that all the nonsense accusations don't dilute it.
Or you can just take it for what it is, an unredacted anecdote among heavily redacted documents which shows that Trump was at minimum an enabler of Epstein’s crimes.

You read more into it as a straw man to attack. Same game you always play.

Once again, it is not part of this document dump. Its part of a civil case against the Epstein estate and has been public record for 6 years. Stop getting your news from randos on Twitter.

Fair enough on the source. I just made an assumption.

I stand by my assertion that you are making a claim that it is more than it is as a straw man so that you can dismiss the real problems it presents.

I don't feel like it in any way shows Trump was an enabler of Epstein's crimes. Its an unproven anecdote that could be completely innocuous. If it was something more, this Jane Doe could have sued Trump like she did the Epstein estate.

That's not some rebuke against her as being weak willed or a liar or whatever. Its a rebuke against a very weak implication that Trump is an enabler based on a smile, a nod and a chuckle to a neutral statement that made some girl feel uncomfortable.

That is fine. We have valid disagreements.

But neither of us made a claim that this is evidence of criminal behavior by Trump. Nobody is making that claim.

Didn't you accuse Trump of being an enabler of Epstein's behavior when referring to the quote about the 14-year-old girl? Assuming you were talking about the behavior that Epstein is noted for when referring to Young women, being an enabler would be a pretty serious crime.

I did. I did not claim it was any evidence of criminal behavior.

“Enabler” does not imply criminal behavior. A mother who gives money to her drug addicted son is an enabler but not a criminal.

Trump knew of Epstein’s crimes, gave tacit approval, and did not report the them. That is an enabler but not proof of a criminal.

Would this give you pause ?

“Our president shares our love of young, nubile girls. When a young beauty walked by he loved to ‘grab ------,’ whereas we ended up snatching grub in the mess halls of the system. Life is unfair. Yours, J. Epstein”

I am so glad our DOJ has stopped investigating Civil Rights cases, White collar crime and the like
And they spend all their time screwing around with these files

Give pause? Sure.
