Right. Exactly this. For goodness sake, there was a funny picture of Joe Biden that used to make the rounds where he appeared to be sniffing a little girl's hair, and the entire right wing was cocksure he was Pedo Joe running the whole Deep State pedophile ring.

Like you, I'm far from the "Trump-hating left." Hell, I'm far from "left." But it doesn't take a hardcore lefty to be suspicious when, you know, the whole entire thing on which Trump campaigned was draining the swamp and releasing the Epstein files and locking up the pedophiles and now......the files don't exist! But they were created by Obama! But they don't actually exist! But someone made them up to make Trump look bad! But they never existed in the first place!

Only a dyed-in-the-wool moron would believe that there isn't smoke that needs to be investigated.

Of course, but whatever he saying now is an attempt to spin. Even if this story is a bit hairy, he’d clearly rather this be the story than searching for the details… and this is the one that he wants to proliferate and is prepared to fight.

He clearly just made this up… or he would’ve said this a long time ago.

As you see in this thread, only willing cult type followers are looking at his statements. They know this is bs, but want something to believe.

We know the character of both guys and their friendship…and Trump is clearly trying to cover up and prepare is naives not to believe what they are going to see.

This is not worth entertaining…what did he do with Epstein and what have they done to try to cover it?
 
I just want to be clear that, yes, I hate Donald Trump, and yes, I think he is a vile and nasty person unfit in every way to be the President of the United States of America. But I absolutely, positively do not want it be true that he was a child rapist. I hope like hell it's not true. I hope it turns out to be a ton of smoke but no fire. It would give me zero pleasure for the person who has been elected not once, but twice, to the most important position in the world, to have been a child rapist. I would much, much rather just have unequivocal policy disagreements, and disagreements on character/morals/ethics with Trump, than for him to have been some child molester.

So their contact pretty much ended after the 2004 Real Estate deal. And in 2019 when Trump made the statement that the reason for ending his relationship with Epstein "doesn't make any difference" is an odd thing to say if it was about Epstein being a pervert.

Trump did not campaign on releasing the Epstein files. He campaigned on closing the border, mass deportations, tariffs, extending the 2017 tax cuts -- including overtime and tips, and not touching Medicaid. So 4 for 5.

I think there were two interviews during the campaign in which he halfheartedly suggested some interest in releasing the Epstein files. And of course his lackeys promoted the idea. But it was not a large part of Trump's overt campaigning.
 
Saying Epstein "stole" someone who was sex trafficked -- as if she were a piece of meat that could be bought and sold -- is not the best word choice for Trump.

Regardless, though, it is definitely true that one of the primary pillars upon which the entire MAGA movement is predicated is that Donald Trump is some super duper benevolent fighter of Deep State Democratic pedophiles and that he was going to bring to light their identities and their crimes and rid the world of these dastardly baby-blood drinking child sex traffickers.

Yes, that is true. It is also true that he appointed ringleaders of that movement like Patel and Bongino to important positions in the administration.
