This guy clearly is, and has always been, nothing more than a right-wing troll - first on Fox "News", and now at the Pentagon. And what he's learning, along with everyone else, is that the Pentagon and Defense Department is no place for blowhards who are nothing more than trolls and talking heads. You actually need some serious administrative experience, brains, and a sense of reality (among other things) to handle that job.

I do think Hegseth's days as Defense Secretary are numbered because there are going to be more scandals and the embarrassing leaks are never going to stop because clearly too many people in the Pentagon despise him to stop the leaks. And of course Trump has no loyalty to anyone, so he'll drop him like a hot potato when he gets the chance. Probably the only thing saving him right now is that for Trump to let him go now would be seen as a public embarrassment for him, which he'll never let happen. Once some time has passed and things die down a little Hegseth will likely be out. The problem is that Trump will simply hire another incompetent, deranged minion and nutcase to replace him - maybe another of his favorite Fox talking heads, or even a Newsmax or OAN blowhard.

National security adviser Mike Waltz is expected to depart from the administration in the coming days, two sources familiar with the matter told CNN.

His job has been in limbo after it was made clear to Waltz earlier this week that his time leading the National Security Council had come to an end, according to a source familiar with what happened.

Special envoy Steve Witkoff, a real estate developer and friend of President Donald Trump, is under consideration to replace Waltz as national security adviser, a person familiar with the matter says.

No decision has made. Witkoff has led discussions with Russia and Iran as Trump looks for international deals.

Waltz had been attempting to stay on and attended the Cabinet meeting Wednesday, appeared on Fox News and showed up to the West Wing Thursday.

But Waltz has been on shaky ground and lost most of his influence in the West Wing after he inadvertently added a reporter to a group chat about military strikes. Trump stood by him at the time, but Waltz’s standing never really recovered, according to four sources. He had also lost his standing with top aides inside the West Wing.

Waltz boarded Marine One with Trump on Tuesday, but when his colleagues boarded Air Force One about ten minutes later, he remained on the tarmac at Joint Base Andrews instead. One White House official said he was never slated to travel with Trump to Michigan, but the move was viewed as odd by other aides inside the administration.

Sweet Jesus, MAGAs. Is 90 days in office your expectation going forward? I hope you realize that, notwithstanding Trump 1.0, this type of turnover is generally associated with (1) companies in bankruptcy, or (2) third-world autocracies who experience a military coup every 90 days or so. How can you possibly defend the shitshow that you not just saw from 2017-2021, but that you're seeing on an even faster scale now?

So, fire the guy who accidently added a reporter to a Signal chat. But leave in place the day-drinking alcoholic who insisted on using the Signal app and actually did disclose the details (time, place, and equipment) of an attack on a hostile enemy who possessed weapons that could have killed those in the attacking planes. Regardless of the deranged accusations of treachery that drip from the lips of St. Donald of Mar-a-Lago and his sycophants on an hourly basis, the reporter did not betray America. The reporter merely alerted America to the fundamental, but omitting the specifics, incompetence of St. Donald and his sycophants that actually did put American lives in danger. The specifics of this incompetence were first disclosed by St. Donald's administration in some sort of deranged effort at crisis management that was way more incompetent than the original mistake. That no Americans died as a result of this "I don't need no competent help in transmitting attack plans" strategy can only be attributed to the FSB's decision that exploiting the data to kill Americans was not worth the damage it might cause for their Puppet President.
