I thought it might be a good thing to have a running thread to post all the bad things that come from a second Trump presidency, particularly those actions and inactions that disappoint his voters. Maybe this thread remains empty, which could be a good thing or a very, very bad thing. The 20th is only two days away. Good luck, America.

This is AP’s take on Trump’s Day 1 promises:

WASHINGTON (AP) — After Donald Trump becomes president again on Monday, he is on the hook for achieving a hefty chunk of his promises even before the day is out. One of those promises is to make you dizzy. “Your head will spin when you see what’s going to happen,” he said of Day 1.

Steady yourself. This is some of what the Republican promised voters he would get done on his first day in office:

— Launch the largest deportation in U.S. history to remove all people in the country illegally.

— Close the border.

— End automatic citizenship for everyone born in the U.S., known as birthright citizenship.

— Sign pardons for some or many of those convicted or charged in the Jan. 6, 2021, assault on the U.S. Capitol.

— Impose a 25% tariff on everything imported from Mexico and Canada and add a 10% tariff to duties already imposed on goods from China.

— Even before Monday, end the Russia-Ukraine war.

— End what he calls the “electric vehicle mandate.”

— Declare a national energy emergency to spur the approval of more drilling, pipelines, refineries, power plants and reactors.

— Cut federal money to schools that push “critical race theory, transgender insanity and other inappropriate racial, sexual, or political content onto the shoulders of our children.” Also cut money to any schools that have a vaccine or mask mandate.

— Take steps to uproot the “deep state.”

All of that on Monday?

Trump has always been known as a hard worker that’s really well organized and honest about his plans, so I’m sure that will all pan out exactly as promised.

I recognize and appreciate the sarcasm. But in St. Donald of Mar-a-Lago's first term, Vlad "the Ras" Putin mistakenly believed he had to maintain a plausible deniability about how far up St. Donald's butt his hand actually was. Now that the American oligarchs have had a good long look at how their contemporaries in Russia fare, depending on the strenght of their outward obeisance, Putin is under no such restraint and the American puppet regime will commence in full on Monday.

The only piece of America that may survive is The Star Spangled Banner. While a switch to "The Internationale" would undoubtedly be preferred, if only for its symbolic value of the ascension of Putin, I doubt he will go that far.

Are these going to be real ones or all of the hypothetical, screaming at the sky amount to nothing things?

How many Constitutional Rights did he take away the first time?

I'll tell you.

ZERO.
Same as the number he will take this term.

But keep jousting at windmills.

I mean... how many times have we heard that "we got him this time?

Again... please keep us updated on the march toward fascism. Many of you have been screaming the same ridiculous phrase since the 60's and it has resulted in the same damn outcome since then.

But I will give you credit.. you love the word "fascism." Maybe look up the REAL meaning.

Declaring 28th Amendment over "X" with absolutely no rhyme or reason would lead me to believe that fascism does exist... only not from the GOP.

As I said in November, I will judge (good and bad) by what he accomplishes when it happens - not by democrats fears or MAGA promises.
So far, he has only had the chance to deliver on one promise - low interest rates.
In this he has failed spectacularly, as we would have had lower rates under literally other person but they are rose and are continuing to rise under the threat of Trump’s stated economic plans.
This colossal mismanagement of our economy is costing Americans every single day.

So, it’s fear mongering to take trumps own words literally?

It’s been a fun ride.

Sounds about right.

At this point, my main goal is that he not send thousands of Americans to fight in some war that ultimately has to do with his ego. If we can avoid that, I'll consider his 2nd presidency a victory.
I would add keep NATO together. The US has asked for the shit storm that’s about to be rained down on us.
The rest of the works has not.
