You started this whole thing with some version of saying that you're sure others have experienced the same thing as if this is a common occurrence that Americans can commiserate about. Now you're saying that in thousands of grocery store interactions, this is the first time that you've even thought about EBT. Can it really be both things? Can it be worth mention and some sort of shared social knowledge AND be something that you've never seen in thousands of other grocery store trips?

It's truly ridiculous how much people want no "handouts" for the poor and are so adamant about cutting them off, as if people getting welfare are living some life of luxury. Meanwhile their heroes like Elon are getting zillions in tax breaks and government contracts and they are totally fine with it.

Like when there's a proposal for a tax increase for people making over a million dollars a year, people who would never make that in a lifetime will be against it - I'm convinced that most Americans just think any day now they are going to strike it rich.

I’ve read studies and articles back to the ‘80’s…….many Americans believe they’ll be rich one day; so, they don’t want to tax the rich.
