I don't dislike NPR or PBS, even though they lean left. I just see no need for the Federal Government to subsidize it any longer. It's no longer 1970, when you had limited TV options.
I believe the government funding of NPR is another fox news myth.

Private individual donations account for over 32% of NPR's total revenue, according to a document from Oklahoma State University. Additionally, donations from businesses, universities, and foundations contribute another 44.4%. This means that a significant portion of NPR's funding comes from private sources rather than government subsidies, which make up only about 5.8%.

But we wouldn't want to dip into birthday parade funding now, would we?

Kinda like public colleges. Only 16% of UNC's funding comes from NC state appropriations.

Sorry, not sorry.
Should be pointed at that the six men arrested were here LEGALLY.
Trump doesn’t give a shit that lives are ruined and businesses are destroyed.
And this obviously has nothing to do with ILLEGAL immigration if they are also rounding up and deporting people here with valid work visas.
This shit is evil and stupid on top of that.

I feel for the workers.

Vincent Scardina……the Trumplican roofing contractor…….who still supports Trump? He can go fuck himself.

I also DOUBT that he has paperwork showing his roofers are here legally.

He and his landscaping relative have been hiring undocumented immigrants for decades because they can pay them less and work them more.

Yeah, my sympathies are with the workers.

This is why people are protesting (comment not directed at you, Zoo).

The contractors love undocumented immigrants…….the contractors can pay them shit.

The contractors want the threats of deportation.

My painters a couple years ago. I asked them how long they had worked for Carlos-the owner.. Proudly they replied
"I work for myself-am independant contractor"
So yea Carlos avoids payroll tax even I imagine

And workers' comp coverage
Yep. If it's like it was a few years ago, they get a 1099 from the contractor, have to show proof of insurance, and the contractor is, iirc, responsible for deducting it and sending it to the government. For construction, it used to be something like 12-18%. Roofers paid the most. Carpenters were only a little less.

What if I pay cash rather than write a check?

Then it's all up to any conscience they have and their opinion of their chances of getting caught. My understanding is that getting caught will put a serious hurt on your lifestyle.
