ETA: yes, I follow the Joe Rogan sub. I’ve never listened to more than 15 minutes of an episode (Bernie), but find the occasional tidbit from his weird mix of guests worth tracking.
Dude, you don't have to explain why or if you watch Joe Rogan. If you want to watch him, watch him. I haven't watched him in awhile (I've never been much of a consumer of that type of thing anyway) but he did used to have some interesting diet and fitness guys on his show. Might still does for all I know. Regardless, I don't think anybody should feel they have to "explain" why they follow a Rogan sub or watch his program (or whatever you call it) on occasion...

PBS / NPR defunded now Colbert cancelled.

What a week!
So have you joined the cancel culture movement ?

You do know that defunding PBS will eliminate rural America's primary/only source of news ,no ?

When it comes to cancelling Colbert, that makes sense so the corporate merger can go through because Trump has thin skin and can't tolerate a comedian poking him with a bit of humor.

Sad

Rural america’s source of news is and has been the internet. Canceling PBS isn’t going to cancel Facebook or YouTube. It is just going to cancel any neutral news, which the Republicans don’t want anyway.

What about the rural America that doesn't have a computer or access to the internets ?

I think Biden's bill contained funding for rural America to be able to access the internet...but I have been day drinking so I could be wrong.

You aren't wrong. Biden signed a bill to provide nroad band to rural America.

His show was losing 40-50M a year. Insulting 50% of US is no way to run a comedy show

About what I’d expect from someone with a University of Kentucky degree who is only famous because she finished in fifth place in a swim meet.

Does she understand how much more money Murdock has? Unless he caves he can handle the legal cost.

His show was losing 40-50M a year. Insulting 50% of US is no way to run a comedy show

"The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" saw a significant decline in revenue in recent years, particularly in advertising revenue. In 2018, CBS's late-night shows, including "The Late Show," generated $439 million in ad revenue. By 2024, that figure had dropped to $220 million, a 50% decrease, according to CNN and The New York Times.

This isn't a loss. Sounds like that George W Bush fuzzy math. Dropped from 400 to 200 is not a loss, it's a decrease.

And insulting 50% of the US is no way to ruin a country, but you seem happy with the piece of shit you voted for.

The trump he voted for doesn't fucking exist.
^This, all of this. Ask Trumpers to describe their god-king and almost invariably they'll describe a man who doesn't exist and has never existed. Their Donald Trump is a figment of their imaginations, like the tooth fairy or Santa Claus. Yet they cling to that illusion as fiercely as a drowning man trying to hang on to a floating object in the water. And any attempt to show the light to them just causes them to dig even deeper into denial.

It is believed that The Late Show was legitimately losing $40-50mil per year due to the drop in ad revenue.

In fact, it's believed that none of the late night shows may be profitable at this point.
