In the same way that the entire playbook of Trumpism for the last decade has been to fire up the low propensity, inbred trailer trash that now comprises the Republican voting base, Newsom is working to fire up the lower propensity and/or demoralized portion of the Democratic voting base that is tired of always taking it on the chin from a bunch of people whose mother and father are also brother and sister.
