I agree with you and your wife that gender dysphoria is likely a real psychological condition. My only objection to your position is that we (society) should be forced to deny simple reality. I am not trained to understand gender dysphoria, but I have read a ton about it. I think it exists, I just don't agree with how we treat it.
You don’t have to agree but you also have no experience or expertise on the topic. You can treat it however you want. Why do you care what other people do?

I'm sorry. Deny reality how? You just said gender dysphoria is real. So what are you expected to deny? There's a condition that you admit is real. There are treatment protocols that are very effective (notwithstanding that bullshit in the UK). What's your issue? You're accepting the Dx but feel qualified to opine on the proper Tx?

But if you are not trained, then what makes your opinion regarding treatment relevant? I personally trust the experts.

what reality is being denied, if you understand that sex and gender are not the same?

@UNCatTech

This was a joke, highlighting how, unfortunately, many republicans believe it to be true. That is, they think any kind of mental health condition, seeking help for a mental health condition, etc., is a sign of weakness.
Thanks. That's why I normally use that emoji to say I don't understand. Knowing your post though, I didn't expect it to be negative toward mental health.

wouldn't see this in trumpmerica. (and Yes Halifax does Pride In July. there was a reason for it, but I can't remember what it was)

Halifax’s original gay pride event was in July 1988. They’ve continued to use July.

It probably started in July in 1988 because 35-40 years ago in Halifax it was still winter in June.

Dumb thing to do even if it were an American flag.

Might could have pulled off a Christian one.
Interesting. I thought the dumb thing to do was the giant bushy mustache with everything else that is supposed to look like a woman.

Things like this bother me….You are at work and you have a Job to do….I never talk Politics at work or ask anyone else about who they vote for or whatever…

Not the place or the time….Same way with Sports…I want to watch a football game…Leave that bullshit at the door…

I think the article mentioned that the park ranger did this while off the clock. Either way, it was tacky on both counts- tacky to hang the flag on El Capitan, tacky for the response to be to fire the ranger.

Was the person at work?

Or, did the person do this while not working?

I’m more offended by people who drop shit and trash bags off Yosemite and other big walls…..or bolt a previously freed climb……I’m talking about literal shit bags.

There have likely been hundreds or thousands of political or sports or cultural banners hung on big walls over the last 20 years in Yosemite.

One should be impressed by their climbing skills to get up there and their rigging skills to hang the banner.

So long as they take it down and by hanging it they don’t obstruct other climbers, kudos for making your statement.
