Zen's issue, I believe, is that he sees a transgender woman competing with other women as cheating, equivalent to someone taking steroids, or stealing signs, or palming cards, etc. That's why he's able to ignore all kinds of other genetic advantages certain athletes have, claiming it's "fair."
Yes, and he also very likely loathes transgenders as a group and not only wants them out of women's sports but pretty much out of the public eye.

Well since this isn't fantasy, your point doesn't make sense.

As for actual fantasy, it's a great part of society. Could you imagine how boring society would be without it?

"Transgenderism" is fantasy. And in my opinion, doing what people call "affirming" does more harm than good. However, I think if people want to play along with them, I guess they should be able to. But everyone shouldn't be forced to play along. I'm not going to. I think giving people who are feeling this way a dose of reality, would be better in the long run.

What’s the harm being done and to whom?

You really should have started with "In my opinion", so we would know the rest was uninformed.

Yea, because it's your choice what is best for them. Keep your dose of reality for someone that gives a shit about your opinion.

You are worse than Zen.

The harm is clearly to his fragile psyche. He seems like Silence and just wants others to hate life as much as he does.

Haha. I don't hate life at all. Although some days you can flip on the news or read the ZZL Politics board and it seems like a plot out of South Park. LOL. And everyone gets so dang mad all the time when people disagree with them on political issues. I have opinions like anyone else, but I don't name call or dislike people because their opinion differs from mine. I have friends of all political persuasions.

Except, apparently, transgenders and other LGBTQ people. They aren't real people, I suppose.

I'm not mad.

I just find it interesting how you present your opinion as absolute fact.

Claiming other people's lives are fake and fantasy, why do you feel so entitled to judge someone else's life?

I made the statement to provoke a response and to illustrate that I don't have enough information to accurately judge your life, so I don't. I don't understand why people feel the need to judge others' lives, especially in deeply personal areas like love, emotion, and core aspects of life.

Why put so much energy into being negative toward people you don't know and clearly don't understand?

I know several trans individuals, and I can assure you that if you met them, you wouldn't know they were trans unless they told you. The divisive rhetoric from this administration is appalling and not something reasonable people should accept.

I believe everyone on this board is reasonably intelligent—it's not the Tar Pit, after all. So I'm surprised to see intelligent people finding joy in others' suffering or spending their time judging and bringing others down. What purpose does it serve?

You know, I don't like Country Music, I joke about that, but I would never put any energy or time into attempting to bring down those who do.

Nonsense. Gender and Biological sex should align. The idea that they shouldn't is absurd. Male is Male. Female is Female, with the exception of those rare occasions where there are people born intersex or with some chromosomal genetic situation and a person at that point may need to try and figure some things out. If it's a clear biological male, they need to be for legal, athletic, and for the purposes of public spaces, a male. That doesn't mean if they want to dress up and be a female because they feel that on the inside, they can't do it on their own time. Have at it big guy! And same for females who had rather be a male. Once an adult, go ahead and take all the hormonal stuff you want. sew something on or chop it off, whatever, but you're still whatever your biological sex is.
Didn’t you previously say you teach Health, or have I confused you with another poster?

My first thought was that the football coach taught health and everyone got an A for showing up because he wasn't a real teacher.

Not making a comment about EhringhausSouth, just a stereotype of coaches and health teachers that I recall.

Nonsense.
No, a fact. Gender is distinct from but related to biological sex. If you can't grasp this very simple fact, you don't need to be participating in this discussion.

Says who and why? Be real specific.

So it's black and white, except where it isn't. Brilliant.

This is just transphobic garbage that barely merits a response, but here goes - in 1780, the height of manliness included silk stockings, wigs, makeup, and ruffles. That has changed in the last 240 plus years despite, to my knowledge, the biology not changing at all since that time. Because gender, an outward expression of characteristics associated with biology, is not the same thing as biology.

There's no reason that a man can't be born female and grow to be a man - and a substantially better man than any goddamn transphobic piece of trash.

But it cannot objectively be disproven. Male vs. Female from a biological standpoint can be proven with ease.
Not disproven isn't any kind of proof. The claims of religion are utterly fantastic and not a single one has proved out.

Otoh, there are plenty of biological disparities that make your male/female dichotomy look stupid.

It is interesting how so many forget history and men wearing stockings and wigs.

At one point in the US it was also against the law to go topless in public, for men. 🤔

Then there are so many other mistakes in our past, look at how left handed people were treated.

Now today we have this absolutism that is nothing more than person uneducated opinion.

Transphobism is just the latest episode of I'm scared of things I don't understand.

The lean muscle advantage that males have over females is a well-documented, biological fact. This makes males bigger, faster, stronger and more athletic than females. This is reflected in sports competition outcomes at every level of sports, including the very, very highest.

This is something we all know and have known for decades, but some have apparently "forgotten" due to their political and emotional leanings.

No, you refuse to listen because you have an agenda, you homophobic, transphobic bigot.

Wow, when are you going to admit that there is a spectrum. You keep presenting your arguments as absolutes, and they are so easily disproved by example. Yes, on average men are stronger, but it's not absolute. And it being a spectrum and not absolute for every case kills your silly argument that every man is stronger than every woman. We have given you multiple examples, why do you refuse to accept that your premise is wrong?

No, this is not something we ALL know because it isn't an absolute truth. Stop with the stupidity that absolutely every man is stronger than absolutely every woman or Serena Williams is going to stop by and kick your ass. Which wouldn't be possible in your world as all women are inferior to men.

I don't think all women are physically inferior to men, but it doesn't have to be "all" for it to be clearly unfair to female athletes.

Speaking of Serena Williams (who probably could kick my ass):

Remember when Venus and Serena claimed they could beat ANY male tennis player outside the top 200... and then the 203 ranked male player beat them back to back (6-1 & 6-2) while reportedly drinking beer before the match and during changeover?

AI Overview

In 1998, Karsten Braasch, a male tennis player ranked 203rd, defeated both Venus and Serena Williams in exhibition matches. The matches were arranged after the Williams sisters claimed they could beat any male player outside the top 200. Braasch won against Serena 6-1 and against Venus 6-2. The event highlighted the significant physical differences between male and female professional tennis players.

From USA Today:

.......What was more intriguing at that particular Australian Open was that the two siblings had something of an inflated understanding of their abilities, developed from their being fresh-faced, and still in need of a few life lessons learned. So they marched themselves into the men’s ATP office to announce rather confidently they were ready to beat any tour player ranked around the Top 200 if someone wanted to take the challenge.

It just so happened that Karsten Braasch of Germany, once a top-40 player, but at the time ranked 203rd, was in ear shot. He thought it would be fun so stepped up to say he’d be happy to take them on.

The date was set and the day arrived. Braasch played a warmup round of golf in the morning, then came to Melbourne Park. The threesome went out to a back court where each sister would have a one-set shot at Braasch. Word had spread around the grounds that the event wsa taking place, which caused tournament officials to restrict admittance to the area to only those with badges.

Braasch would smoke cigarettes and sip beer during the changeovers, and to be honest no longer looked the part of a fit professional athlete. It made no matter. Braasch led 5-0 over Serena before winning the set 6-1, and then posted a 6-2 set victory over Venus.

It was all in good fun, but 19 years later, and a record six Australian Open titles later, Williams, laughingly, insisted recall of the event was not in her memory bank.

“I forgot about that, actually,” she said, smiling, on Saturday. “Gosh, I don’t remember that at all. Gosh, that was forever ago. I don’t remember what year it was.

“I have a terrible memory,” she added, still smiling.

Every time I read yet another Zen goalpost move or intellectual obfuscation for his bigotry, I get a good chuckle out of the Sam Harris signature. A real chef's kiss!
