It’s like the Literary Digest poll from 1936. They predicted that Alf Landon would beat FDR. The election saw Roosevelt win 46 states and 523 EV. The problem was the survey was conducted exclusively among their readers who tended to be Republicans. It was their last poll.

What an awful story. And good for the business owner for standing up for his workers despite threats from the neo-Nazi types. I'd be curious though how this man will vote next month? He's two-time Trump voter. Will he still support Trump after Trump very directly put his and his family's lives at risk?

Ah, the great Literary Digest poll. One of the largest polls ever taken, at the time. The three groups of people polled were: 1) subscribers to Literary Digest, 2) registered owners of automobiles, and 3) persons owning a telephone. Turns out those three groups, even in combination, were not exactly representative of the entire electorate in 1936. Makes one wonder what a poll of persons flying a Confederate Battle Flag in front of their homes would show in 2024?

Near the end of the article, he clearly stated he would NOT vote for Trump again.

He doesn't know what the Congo is? I mean, I believe him, but it's kind of strange that he's admitting to it.

If I had one minute to talk to Trump, I'd say something like, "you said you didn't know what the Congo is. It's actually a river." Then, "nah, just kidding, it's a country." Then, "But no, seriously, it's a river." So on and so forth till he grasps that it's a river and a country. And then to drop the hammer, "it's actually two countries. Which one is sending criminals to the US?"

It probably sounds better to me in my head than it would be in real life, but if I fill my head with these small fuck-wtith-Trump fantasies, it helps distract from my more consuming anger.
