This (the media blitz) is necessary but risky for Harris/Walz. I get the approach of "Just sit back and let Trump hang himself", which worked for Biden, but we aren't in a pandemic where there's no excuse to stay out of the public eye. Harris isn't great at expressing thoughts on the fly and putting herself all over the media could backfire.

I agree that she is getting some negative coverage but I am wondering why. What should she have differed on regarding one of our greatest presidents?

I'm wondering what she could have possibly said that would have earned her less negative coverage. The hits were going to come from one angle or another.
Correct. This is a great example of the absurd double standard that has developed in the age of Trump. Kamala gets criticized for not throwing her friend and boss under the bus. Trump smears his feces on the interviewer’s face and she goes to great lengths to put it in “context.”

Absolutely, and its been going on ever since she replaced Biden as the Democratic nominee. There was actually a journalist who posted sometime ago that Harris should be "held to a higher standard" than Trump, basically for the bullshit reason that everybody knows what Trump is like and that he won't really answer questions and that he lies and so on, so Harris should be treated differently. And make no mistake, that is a bullshit double standard. But it does exist, no doubt.

That’s one way to think about it. But consider also that’s she’s trying to win an election in today’s media landscape.

Over the past few days I’ve been trying to get people to vote in this little contest for the Linville Rescue Squad. What I’ve noticed is that there are individuals on social media that have more reach than traditional media. Did you know that the Holderness family has five MILLION followers on Facebook? That’s pretty big reach right there, and likely more followers than all the news stations in North Carolina combined.

Kamala just did an interview on the Call Me Daddy podcast, which is apparently “the most listened to podcast by women.” I posted a clip from it in another thread. It’s no New York Times, but it sure might be an effective PR strategy when your objective is to win the election. Doing these types of interviews are a way to get voters to listen to your message, who ordinarily might stay within their own bubble of media (whether that’s right-wing, conservative, or in the case of some young people, apolitical). Her goal here is to WIN.

Just coming on here to toot my own horn 😂

This is all like one of my cats... sitting on my desk, watching the cursor moving around on the monitor. Just waiting to catch the "mouse" napping...
