That’s one way to think about it. But consider also that’s she’s trying to win an election in today’s media landscape. Is she interviewing with The NY Times, WAPO, WSJ?
No?
She’s not serious.
It’s not 1960 anymore. No reason for her to sit down with three legacy outlets. The people she needs to reach don’t read any of those. Is she interviewing with The NY Times, WAPO, WSJ?
No?
She’s not serious.
I can’t watch currently but will try to watch clips. Got any examples in the meantime?Anyone watching this? Bill Whitaker is grilling her pretty good. I think her answers could be better.
Just watched in on YouTube. Agree that the facts are on her side, but she struggles to communicate. I wish she would’ve emphasized the need to elect Democrats to Congress as well. When pressed about how she would get her tax plan through congress… I wish she would say something like
I understand that it’s important to work across the aisle, which is why I supported the bipartisan legislation proposed to strengthen our southern border. I have countless endorsements from republicans who understand the perils of a second Trump term and I believe that we’re all ready to work together to find a new way forward.
When pressed about the border and why it took her administration so long to act. Lean into the fact that Biden asked her to visit Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras to find the root cause of our problems and that once she did, illegal crossing began to come down, that she then worked with pubs to craft and support the bipartisan legislation that Trump crushed!
The truth is in her side but she’s not communicating it very well.
Agreed about the economy. Glad that she chose to focus on the wealthy paying their fair share. With Biden and Harris both talking about this, it seems this is being reincorporated into the standard Democratic lexicon in a way that it wasn’t pre-2016. I’m thankful for that.I watched it and thought she did fine.
Whitaker came back to questions to try and get direct answers. To Trump, this type of interview would have been "nasty." Well, if it was with Whitaker, I guess he would label it "uppity."
Harris' answer to the border question could have been better. It was not bad or anything, and she tried to do this in a way, but she should have said something, we did try to do things differently and Republicans would not help us. She needed to emphasize even more emphatically that Republicans only care about the border as a campaign issue and not actually doing anything about it.
Her answer on Ukraine was very good. Her answer about people getting to know her was good.
Her answer on the economy was pretty good.
