That’s one way to think about it. But consider also that’s she’s trying to win an election in today’s media landscape.
Over the past few days I’ve been trying to get people to vote in this little contest for the Linville Rescue Squad. What I’ve noticed is that there are individuals on social media that have more reach than traditional media. Did you know that the Holderness family has five MILLION followers on Facebook? That’s pretty big reach right there, and likely more followers than all the news stations in North Carolina combined.
Kamala just did an interview on the Call Me Daddy podcast, which is apparently “the most listened to podcast by women.” I posted a clip from it in another thread. It’s no New York Times, but it sure might be an effective PR strategy when your objective is to win the election. Doing these types of interviews are a way to get voters to listen to your message, who ordinarily might stay within their own bubble of media (whether that’s right-wing, conservative, or in the case of some young people, apolitical). Her goal here is to WIN.
