I didn't get "In before the lock" on the Hubert is toast thread. I'm also not going to spend all spring and summer worrying about it.

But UNC basketball is at an all time low, in my many decades at least.. I measure that by NC State, as woefully as they are, now having a coach that is miles and miles ahead of ours.

It also doesn't help that we look like a mid major compared to dook, and will for the foreseeable future. Hubert is not the answer and never was. He proves that more each year

For those that say we can't get a good coach, nonsense. State College just got a very good coach and they have sucked for decades.

Then who was the answer when Roy stepped down? I’ll bet you were one of those big Wes guys?

And who is the answer now?

*still waiting on an answer to these ^

1. How long will he stay there?
2. The problem isn't landing a good candidate. It's whether the good candidate turns out to be a good coach on this level.

1) Who knows, he is young and a very good coach. If he is there for only 3-4 years that is plenty if time to put them solidly back on the map and a good program. All this while we are floating away.

2) Yes, the guy coached at McNeese but he is not an unknown commodity that has to prove himself at this level. He was a good coach at LSU, a great recruiter, but got knocked down for being caught on tape offer8ng money, which most programs did back then and have for decades. I would take him or a coach of his quality (we can do even better) all day over Hubert and his crappy offense, inability to develop, and inability to assemble a team well (aka inability to coach.)

I think the answer was, "whoever an exhaustive coaching search conducted by professionals determined to be the best candidate."

And that's still the answer. Hubert, nice guy tho he may be, is not the answer.
The more I read I'm not sure about the nice guy, I'd he's running off players.

If IJ good somewhere else that will be telling sibe HD was a pivotal part of him coming here.

It will be interesting to see if he can get them back to Herb Sendek levels and if that will be good enough for state this time around.

I can't speak for the crazy State fan. But Sendek level would be a huge jump for them. Hell, it would be a jump for ys currently. Plus, he doesn't run a boring Princeton offense like Sendek, nor is he boring like Sendek. State College fans like ornery bluster types like Chuckles the Clown.

I wasn't being sarcastic with my question. It would indeed be a huge jump. They were honestly in a pretty good place with Sendek and should have been happy to keep him for the rest of his career.
