Nobody said anything about infallible.

He just thought some of our fans were idiots, and I think he was dead on about that
In this very thread you made a stat claim that was completely debunked by snoop and you tried to frame it as "having a different perspective ".

Roy was certainly right.

Questioning Hubert is absolutely no indication of idiocy though. Given his track record, just the opposite.

I think calling people who support him "bootlickers" is a pretty far cry from refusing to "question him"

I think of our fanbase in thirds. One third is die-hard supporters, one third is reasonable questioners, and one third are the idiots Roy was talking about. It's the middle third I think you're referring to.

And anyway, there is so much question begging that goes on in this type of argument. There are actual *reasons* - a bunch of them - why people support Coach Davis other than blind loyalty.

Wow, I guess with dook playing and the portal concerns we have nothing better to do than bicker.

Who are the potential point guards still available?

I want guards that play like the Fla guard did tonight.

The sinks from Martin were very nice.

Supporting him is perfectly fine. White washing his comments while calling EC immature and a slew of other things certainly points to someone with blinders.

The claim that EC improved a "little bit" in his 3 point percentage? You're right, I understated that, because I didn't remember his freshman percentage being so low. There were definitely more accurate phrases to use regarding the movement from 19 to 32. My point, though, if you were tracking the conversation, was that 32 still isn't that great, and affected how teams played us, and made it harder for us.

And yes he was.

Unfortunately it's not looking great. The staff thought George was locked up. Maybe another talent will appear on the radar otherwise it's gonna be another lousy season.

Roy Williams also thought Ginyard should start over Green, and that Hubert was the right person to replace him.

He was not infallible.

I'm still convinced that starting Ginyard over Green was a great idea. Those teams had so much scoring that Ginyard's lack of offense wasn't as big a deal and his presence as a starter gave the team a defensive focus right out of the gate. Green was the ultimate "Swiss Army Knife" of a player, he did everything at least fairly well and many things very well, and was the perfect 6th man to come off the bench as he could provide anything you needed depending on who was on the court with him and how the team was playing that night. Green was clearly the better player, but the from a holistic team perspective I think starting Ginyard over Green was a great idea due to the breadth of Green's skillset. (I do think that Green should have gotten more minutes than Ginyard despite being the sub, but that didn't happen. I'm cool with being annoyed with Roy about that.)

White washing which comments?

I don't know if EC was immature or not. I always supported him, I loved having him on our team, and I was very much looking forward to seeing him shine next year without having RJ in the backcourt. I also thought his comments about Michigan surrounding him with "the correct people" was an incredibly tone-deaf shot at his teammates this year, even if he wasn't aiming at them. It made me start to suspect that maybe leadership isn't one of his natural traits, and that maybe we'd be better off without him. If I had my choice, though, even now I'd still want him back, on the condition that we had a real alpha leader like Harrison Ingram to hold him to account on the floor.

I definitely have things I question about Coach Davis, but I tend to keep them quiet because I know that there are tons and tons of relevant information that I don't know - that none of our fans know - and I'm pretty sure that if I knew all those things it would change my perception of not only Coach Davis, but all our players.

It's also true that this is not unique to Carolina. Sports fans everywhere are so myopic that they become dunn-kruger itself...ttoo dumb to know that they're dumb.

There are some good ones still out there, and there's some buzz about the kid from Princeton. Plus, Tanner has good European and international connections, so there could easily be solid names there.

IMO if we get Drake and/or Ian back, we don't need a rock star at PG. Just someone solid, who can hit the 3 at a reasonable rate, solid at PnR, and plays good defense. I think so much depends on the two freshman wings and what they decide. It would be challenging to replace one of them, and darn near impossible to replace both.

Why he would choose Cuse is puzzling.

One of the Florida players in the first player to play in two final fours for two different teams. Maybe we can get on of the final four guards.
