Problem with the Drake thing is it would seem he’s going to push it all the way until the final deadline to stay or go. So won’t know for a month.Whoa. That Drake line is big.

I don't see how HD can take that kind of risk in a make or break year. Obviously, we have millions tied up in Drake coming back. If I were in HD's shoes, I'd take the Drake money and go get a sure thing out of the portal, while telling Drake to kill it in the NBA. Letting Drake keep his options open until end of May seems like such an old school move in this day and age. I wouldn't run that risk. Even if you think it is 80/20 that Drake would come back, things change (see, Lubin, V.)Problem with the Drake thing is it would seem he’s going to push it all the way until the final deadline to stay or go. Would love to have contracts as well as salary caps.Contracts for players can't come soon enough.
Our money isn’t tied up in Drake. We have donors that will pay for Drake if he decides to come back.I don't see how HD can take that kind of risk in a make or break year. If I was, that would be one hell of a plot twistUnless you’re Tanner or VAL’s agent
I’d bet that choice had a lot more to do withIt’s also official that Ian Jackson has transferred to St. John’s.
Probably a good choice for him as Pitino will put a lot of focus on areas of Jackson’s game that he needs to work on the most.
and proximity to homeI’d bet that choice had a lot more to do withthan honing his fundamentals.
Yeah. I think it's less than an hour from his house.and proximity to home
Another issue that the NBA and NCAA need to work on together.I don't see how HD can take that kind of risk in a make or break year. Obviously, we have millions tied up in Drake coming back. The NBA likely has no problem with the date of the draft deadlines.Another issue that the NBA and NCAA need to work on together.
The draft deadline being that far out really hurts in recruiting the portal.
Anything that the NBA and the NFL can do to mimic MLB will be a good thing for athletes. Period. The NBA likely has no problem with the date of the draft deadlines.
The NCAA should adopt a rule for existing college players that is similar to that for high school seniors who are MLB prospects. Let them enter the draft and if they don’t like the result, go to college.
That might prompt sketchy NBA front office personnel to be more open and honest with players.
I didn’t suggest that the NBA or NFL mimic MLB.Anything that the NBA and the NFL can do to mimic MLB will be a good thing for athletes. Period.
