Well—it happened. Just received notice that I’ve been laid off, effective at the end of the month.

Most of my work was based on contracts with CDC, CMS, and NIH. That work has dried up significantly over the past few months, thanks to Trump. And so…here we are.

Every federal employ I've ever known was underpaid comparatively. Several said they were there for other reasons, like pensions.

Yeah, I've yet to see a citizen lose out on a job to an immigrant worker.

I’d lose out on a job roofing structures in the Lower 48 in the months of April-October……too damn hot…..especially on a roof.

I remember the day they “roofed” my new house…..it wasn’t hot or sunny…..it was drizzling……….5-6 Latinos swarmed the roof……done in 2-3 hours (650 square feet of house and porch). Tiny house. Immaculate site after they were done.

Two years later…..my parents house - a BIG ranch with a MASSIVE roof…..July. Hotter than Hades. Humid. Nasty.

Those guys hit the work. Done 3 days later (again, this is about 4,500 square feet of roof plus hips and valleys and more.

No litter. No cigarette butts. No partial shingles littering the ground. On any day of the work.

That projection seems to conveniently de-emphasize the discretionary spending that allegedly keeps our elected officials in office.
What about where we are today? If we reduce discretionary can we also reduce interest and fund entitlements? The below chart is from USA Facts (which I am not all that familiar with). Assuming the data is good, there are some pretty big buckets that get overlooked in the framing above.

DOGE was necessary , in part, because Biden aggressively thrust DEI programs and positions in every sector of government. Drastic and swift action is required to undo that mess. Same with deportations. The mess was created by the prior administration, which required a drastic response.

Those are facts and not straw man arguments against Dems. Also, no other Democrat not named Clinton has ever showed an iota of interest in reducing government bureaucracy or the federal workforce. Government continues to grow and grow even though our population has leveled off.What

anonymous comments from consultants posting on message boards is, of course, the gold standard for evidence-based argument.

The people who post shit on glassdoor are usually disgruntled and they are young. And at Booz Allen, they are arrogant and they think they know everything. I speak from experience. I knew a lot of management consultants in the day. My gf worked at Booz Allen one summer.

And also, that comment does not say what you think it says. It means things are going smoothly.
