Do not want Golden.
Golden would be at the top of my list of actual coaches , with Brad Stevens being at the top in Make-Believe Land. Lloyd would be a close second to Golden, with Otzelberger/Oates just behind. Either of those top 3 or 4 would be a slam dunk.

Byington might be the easiest get of the bunch, but would be a step down from the top tier.

Dusty May isn't a viable option. I can't imagine why he'd want to leave Michigan.

There are a lot of names on that list that should be more like 1000/1.

The wider college bball world seems more bullish on the chances Golden would take our job than I am (leaving aside whether the personal issues would scare us off). Florida has more resources than we do and coaches who are thriving with a recent national title win never move jobs.
Rice? Lebo? Sean May? Stackhouse? There are some serious cracksmokers setting those betting odds.

Absolute no on Oates period (character still matters at UNC). Same issue with Golden, plus why would he leave Florida? He can literally do whatever he wants and has no financial or legal restrictions in his state.

I actually would prefer Donovan or Stevens to any of these names. I guess Few is not interested? Lloyd and Otzelberger next.

Another good C2C podcast tonight. Sherrell nailed it at the end (paraphrasing): "In 54 of the past 65 years UNC has had a great coach. Hubert Davis is not a bad coach. He's just not a great coach. Carolina needs a great coach."

He was not cleared . He was not convicted...settlement
I am not aware of any settlement.

The initial anonymous allegations accused him of sending dick pics to multiple women through Instagram.

Apparently, there was one non-Florida student who hired an attorney, but I could find no other evidence to support the claim. There was no evidence any Florida student was harassed, which is why the claim was dismissed.

And sending dick pics seems a lot less harmful than what Zayden High did.

High isn't the head coach.

And Zayden High was not cleared.

Which is somewhat relevant to the “we have higher standards at UNC” argument.
Being cleared of Title IX violations is not the same as being cleared of misconduct. The whole situation will likely be an issue for at least some people at UNC.
