I had to do a credit card charge back on 247 years ago because of their convoluted system to cancel your subscription.Mine was mid-March. Guessing we won't be getting a refund.
No regrets.

I think you vastly underestimate how hard it is to oversee a community in which a whole lot of folks don’t want to listen to the PTB unless the PTB is going to agree with them. This is specially true when every time you ban someone, you’re taking money from your own pocket (on the paid boards). Unless the PTB wants to severely restrict their own income, they’re going to shoot for as large a paid board as possible that only removes people when they cross very specific lines toward the edges of behavior.unfortunately, that's only half their job - as hosts of the biggest collection of UNC fans on the internet, IMO the environment that is cultivated is their responsibility, and they've failed woefully to make that environment something better than the lowest common denominator of sports fandom on either their paid or free boards.
you're right State posters. sorry had a poor night's sleep.I thought it was State posters... but you would know better than me.
Oh yeaI realize I’m probably in the minority for this board but I’ll go to bat for IC as a media outlet. Their reporting over the years has been top notch and overall I don’t think it’s a stretch at all to say that they’ve built one of the best college sports sites in the country when you combine how well sourced they are and the level of engagement they’ve gotten out of the UNC fan base.
As for the content on the forums themselves these days, I can understand why you guys have lost interest. I first had an IC account in the early 2010s right after I graduated when I was a lot more invested in recruiting and following the teams closely, gradually lost interest, then came back a few years ago. The discussion definitely feels more negative now than it did during my first stint, whether that’s because the basketball team has struggled more, people are just generally more combative online these days, etc.
My recollection, which might be completely wrong, was that it involved an NCSU poster that had something about St. Augustine in his/her/its name. Whether its was the college in Raleigh or the city in Florida, I don't know. My recollection of the actual event that resulted in the ban was that the aforemention NCSU poster was continually engaged in extememly reprehensible and racist tolling that really reflected poorly on NCSU, but would have been cheered at a Klan meeting. IIRC, which I often don't, Manhatten Heel got so mad that she informed the employer of the aforementioned NCSU poster of what he was posting on the internet.I thought it was State posters... but you would know better than me.
She didn't inform the employer. She alluded to the poster that she might know who the employer was and that was a enough for a network ban.My recollection, which might be completely wrong, was that it involved an NCSU poster that had something about St. Augustine in his/her/its name. And just for record, if my postings about the current national administration, those who control it, and those who do its bidding get me banned, then I can't imagine a more glorius way to depart than pissing off some right-wing troll.
ETA: "St. Augie Doggie"?
I'd like the Cliff Notes version of this episode...IC never banned her. Duke posters got her a system wide ban.
Wow! That was it? An allusion… might know…She didn't inform the employer. She alluded to the poster that she might know who the employer was and that was a enough for a network ban.
My question is if your subscription is with IC or with 247? Because even though I subscribe for IC you get access to all things 247. And when IC leaves you will still get access to everything on 247. So why would On3 cut you a break?I would be shocked if IC made annual accounts re-up again. I'd be willing to bet that IC/On3 will grandfather in all existing annual memberships.
I have noticed a lot of 247 stuff lately is subscribers only-when I go to other "teams"My question is if your subscription is with IC or with 247? My best guess is that once IC leaves the 247 network, your subscription will no longer work at 247 and you will need to get a new subscription if you wish to continue to access other 247 sites. My question is if your subscription is with IC or with 247? the problem is that everything that they've ever published that might be worth caring about is behind one of the hardest paywalls i've seen, and nobody i know of pays for them. that just leaves their social media and free tools to judge them by, rather than their journalistic and/or analytical quality. their social media is sophomoric and unprofessional, and their transfer portal rankings have appeared to be pulled out of thin air -- and their NIL value estimates were even worse.I just read the 14 page thread about the move on IC. I was not aware that so many people had negative opinions of On3.
Can anyone enlighten me if you know about why On3 might “suck”?
Thanks.
I’d like this to be a one stop shop site.We would have no Sherrell and company which is the major draw, I assume, for most people but I’ve gotten more than one.. ok 3.. messages saying maybe we could consider adding a hoops/football forum and making a run at being another UNC sports community.
There are folks that don’t care about UNC sports here. It’s also a risk for other reasons but.. it’s an idea.
Same here. I wonder if there will be more people coming from IC when they change to 0n3. Especially if you have to have a paid subscription to participate on the boards.I’d like this to be a one stop shop site.
