I’d say it means On3 cut a check.
I assume 247 won’t try and create a Carolina site after IC leaves. Many schools don’t have 247 sites and 247 seems like they don’t have a lot of money to try and start anything.Does this mean there will be no UNC-focused site on 247 or just that IC as we know it will be moving?
Well that’s not good…Ncpreps changed over …. It is AWFUL.
On3 is what Rivals, Brick Oettinger, David Glenn, ACC Sports, etc…… have combined to become.
Think of ESPN-Barstool Sports without politics and BS comments

Its possible that 247 would recruit Tar Heel Illustrated. But I noticed that Andrew Jones just announced he is leaving Tar Heel Illustrated, so perhaps he is planning on starting the new 24/7 site to compete with THI and IC.I assume 247 won’t try and create a Carolina site after IC leaves. I also assume this news means that 247 is not long for this world. In its current capacity.
I assume there is a noncompete in the IC contract with 247 that ends on August 1. So, IC has a contractual obligation not to promote any competitor website until that date.
It means I'm losing my "free" Paramount+ subscription
Why? 247 is not a particularly good network. Unless you just love Viacom, I am not sure why the network affiliation would make any difference in your subscription desire.Seems like a good time to end all ties to inside Carolina - I had gotten a good price for premium but just set it to non-renew
I've joked for years that someone needs to stop Shannon Terry. The man is out of control lolIts possible that 247 would recruit Tar Heel Illustrated. By way of background, one of the guys that started Rivals, Shannon Terry, sold it to Yahoo and then after his non-compete expired started 247, and then after his non-compete expired started On3. On3 just bought Rivals back from Yahoo. So who knows where this is all headed.

Contracts frequently have a prohibition on announcing a transaction until it closes. You sign an agreement that says we will close in 30 days if each side satisfies an agreed list of conditions. Everyone agrees how long to embargo the info, usually until the deal closes.
