IC going to On3

Looking around the On3 ZZL.

Many of the old posters. I see JohnYaya is back and still hates homeless people. :)

Some posters have changed their user names. I've thought about that, but why would it matter?

I see a lot of change coming in this next year for me personally.

Still not much traffic on either board at On3 and 247. I like how the On3 boards look better than 247.

i've been on the 247 board just once since the switch. technically my sub runs though November but i've deleted the site from all my favorites and bookmarks. appreciate a lot of the work and personalities amongst the IC staff but i'm not going to on3.

i'm outtie 5000 on all message boards except this one.

I still hang out some on both Boards
ON3 has some amazing empty times-like no one on there But the staff tries really hard to post a LOT to spur on interest
247 Tar Pit Premium actually has added some posters that are sensible and not HURR DE DURR Tar Pit types They have also added more real losers-always addressing faculty as booger eaters etc
Now the 247 staff is also trying very hard to put up new material every couple hours

I still check out the other ZZL at On3 and the lounge at 247 every few days. Both are pretty dead.
I think the split definitely drove down engagement on both sites. But.. I think it's just for the time being. The second football and basketball start, people will want their fix of info/conversation and will come crawling back. There's just nothing to talk about for the time being.

I would agree for basketball, but in my scattered memory this was a prime football discussion period in years past where everyone wanted to talk about the upcoming season and how practices are looking and how the defense is dominating the offense or the offense is dominating the defense and how we're either going 12-0 or 0-12 (no inbetween).

Hopefully things will pick up a bit after games start on Saturday. (Football is back on Saturday!!!)

This probably describes me. When IC left 247 a few weeks ago I cancelled my subscription and haven’t bothered to sign up with On3 yet, but once football season actually starts in a few weeks I’ll probably bite the bullet and head over there to see what everyone’s saying about the team, etc.

Right now it just feels like we’ve talked through the same things over and over again all off-season and there won’t be any fresh discussion until the games get going.

The split substantially increased TarHeel Illustrated traffic. It appears that THI (I guess now 247 TarHeel) got a roughly 100% membership boost by inheriting Inside Carolina’s customer base. Will be interesting to see how much of that traffic they can retain by next year.

With the $1 through the end of October deal, it doesn't cost any extra to join now even if you barely use it.

There are some good practice notes coming in at this point, if those interest you.

I agree that Andrew Jones was the biggest winner in all of the changes that happened.

I do wonder, though, if the customers he kept were, in any substantial form, the customers that you'd actually want to keep?

A few I wish had made the jump (e.g. akgheel) but most I am glad they stayed. That said, IC traffic is way down and THI traffic is way up this month.
