I haven't gone on the free boards much since this board was created last year, but based on what I saw and remember that's not much of a loss, imo. Both the free football and especially free basketball boards had become toxic on the old IC - just sewers of constant negativity about the players, Coach Davis, and the whole program.
 
Went over to IC for the first time in a long, long while and the free boards are gone, but they still have a free ZZL, lol. It's far less active than this one. A number of the few posters there were complaining about how dead both the IC ZZL and 247 non-sports topic boards were, and how such off-topic boards are dying out generally (one blamed Reddit for their demise). One said traffic here was suffering, but it seems to me that this board is doing fine, and we still have a good deal of traffic - certainly vastly more traffic than on the old IC ZZL.

A lot of them say they won't come here because of the political talk, even though they don't have to see political threads if they don't want to. Even without the political threads there is still more traffic here on the other threads than IC or 247.
 
Their traffic has been about 12 posts per month since they went to on3. It may have been a good business decision. But it was not good for the message boards
 
There were only two non-staff posts on the free basketball board since the first exhibition game. The free board posters didn't follow IC in the move.

It was locked after it was brought to the attention of the PTB. Before that, they had no idea what was happening on it as they don't monitor the ZZL at all.
