Is Walz threatening to bring in the National Guard to essentially "fight" ICE or is it to prevent possible riots?

Walz issues warning order to Minnesota National Guard after fatal ICE shooting​

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) said that he has issued a “warning order” to prepare the Minnesota National Guard after a woman was fatally shot by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer in Minneapolis on Wednesday morning.

“Donald Trump and his administration may not care much about Minnesota — that’s been pretty evident — but we love this state,” Walz said at a Wednesday press conference. “We won’t let them tear us apart. We will not turn against each other.”

Minnesota National Guard Joint Staff Director Simon Schaefer said the state’s guard consists of 13,000 soldiers and airmen and that the guard is “always prepared to respond and support state agencies and the citizens of Minnesota.”

In response to the governor’s warning order, Schaefer said the agency has begun preparations in the event the guard is activated, including equipment checks and notifying service members.

“To Minnesotans, on the National Guard, they’re there to protect you and protect your constitutional rights,” Walz said. “These are our neighbors. They don’t wear masks. They don’t bust in from somewhere else. They’re not here to cause hassles to you or what we saw today, the tragedy.”

Dems should incorporate these data into a campaign ad and run it throughout the midterm election cycle.

The average voter can only metabolize 3 issues...

1 ) The economy sucks and is only benefitting the wealthy, not the rest of us
2 ) We are not arresting and deporting violent brown skin criminals as promised
3 ) Our bully domestic and foreign policy is losing the respect and support of our global allies which threatens our national security

Yes, she and Susan Collins love to talk about how "disturbed" they are, then do fuck all about it. But it is not realistic to demand, or expect, a more aggressive statement than the one she made at his stage of the process (like 2 days after this happened). I don't want to further increase the blurring of lines between "US Senator" and "shitposter." We don't need Lisa Murkowski tweeting "This is murder. defund ICE" and it's not going to happen anyway.

The problem is that Murkowski and Collins repeatedly act shocked and concerned at the completely foreseeable outcomes of the legislation they support and actors they vote to confirm. Being over their bullshit naïveté seems completely fair to me.
 


How the fuck is Tucker fucking Carlson somehow able to be less of a cretin about this than the Vice fucking President of the United fucking States?
 
He's not going to cancel elections. It's about putting enough mistrust about the system out there that he will simply dismiss the results if they don't go his way.

I liked his economic ideas but not his Israel support and his messaging. The Democratic party has declined under him. I'd like to see someone that could rally the middle of the voting spectrum with policies that didn't actively turn off voters, but that's not him. He wants to keep the base pacified.

But none of that matters for leadership. The only thing that matters is soliciting bribes, I mean campaign donations, and Schumer has traditionally been very good at tapping his connections on Wall Street. That's why he stays at the top although there are reports that his fundraising has slowed.

I think not being on Fox News has allowed Tucker to be more independent from the Republican line. He's still conservative but he now takes positions outside of Republican orthodoxy.

Of course now he has a podcast in his living room instead of making his millions on a network desk. Some credit to him for taking less money to be able to speak his mind.
 
She is 100% accountable for her own death. She made every decision that led to that outcome. Was she influenced by the current Democratic narrative? Absolutely.

Let me ask you this where were the Democratic protesters and obstructionists when the Biden administration had ICE arrest thousands in Minnesota during his four years in office? Do you not think she would have met the same fate if she had done the same thing back then? You have to be deeply influenced by a specific narrative to act the way she did. An armed federal agent, or any law enforcement officer with a weapon, can use lethal force if you refuse to follow instructions. Again, where was the outrage during the Biden administration? I guarantee you it wasn't on CNN.

Finally, the owner and administrators of this board should be ashamed. The hatred you condone and allow here is disgusting. Just because you hate Trump and because your party lost by a significant margin is no excuse for this shameful behavior. I've never seen as many abhorrent 'sore losers' on any online forum and that's saying something. You are aware that children can view this board without a membership? lmao, no credit to tucker who was born with a silver spoon in his ass and is still making plenty of money. lots of advertising dollars flowing his way and he isn't constantly spewing all of the pro-russia talking points for free, either.
