I’ve been reading these complaints — the apparent issue follows a Trump-arranged restructuring of TikTok ownership that does t at all seem to comply with the TikTok specific law or address the concerns about CCP influence, but did put Trump-aligned US owners in charge of US TikTok.

Perhaps they needed the CCP connections to teach them how China controls info Chinese get and ma populate the TikTok algorithm? Or maybe just a coincidence of timing.

No, I don't want to play BS stat manipulating games where you apply no context to any numbers. Maybe you don't understand the numbers.
That's rich coming from someone who doesn't understand basic arithmetic.

If a sizeable group with a 1% crime rate moves into a city with a 3% crime rate, what happens to the overall number of crimes? What happens to the crime rate? Is the city safer or less safe.

You have repeatedly answered these questions incorrectly, which is about 5th grade level I think.

Anyone who has doubt on #4 should consider that the obvious lies the DOJ has told about each incident have been so easily disproven that their credibility is now zero.
This administration is going to defend their own by default. That doesn't mean they are right or they are wrong. The problem is we don't know because they just say shit.

I'm just saying that I suspect cford and most people here are more confident of number four than I am.

We don't just "know now how wrong racism and Nazism is." People knew it at the time - including the people who acted against it, breaking the law while doing so. You either believe that people can and should resist laws that they believe to be morally unjust, or you don't. The people who are opposing ICE's actions believe that those actions are every bit as unjust and morally wrong as those of the American officials who sought to enforce runaway slave laws and the German officials who sought to enforce a state-sanctioned pogrom against Jews. You may disagree with their judgment, but if you agree at a more fundamental level that it is right to oppose injustice, even as perpetuated by the government, then you should support their right to do so, not criticize them.

Also, I don't agree with the distinction you're making. Hiding or transporting an individual runway slave was "intervening in specific, individual police actions." Every European who hid a Jewish person in their attic or basement was "intervening in specific, individual police actions." You are looking back at history and trying to distinguish a larger movement from individual actions happening in real time. But those larger movements were made up of hundreds, thousands, or millions of individual actions by people to resist what they believed were unjust laws, and resist the enforcement of those laws by governmental authorities.
Do you want to live in a country where, based on feelings, people are legally aloud to intervene in any police action they desire?

What do you think is the motivation for "the left" wanting "everyone here illegally to be allowed to stay" ?

I think liberals like me object to the beating, jailing/ deporting , and the traumatizing of law abiding families with no violent criminal history who have been here for years contributing to our country simply because they committed the misdemeanor of being undocumented.

Believe it or not but there are a good many communities in this pluralistic country of ours that cherish our brown skin neighbors. We are not frightened that they are here to murder, rape us, or eat our dogs and cats. The attempt to stoke fear by Trump/MAGA/Fox News et al has fallen on their deaf ears.

I remain hopeful that you can separate the wheat from the chaff.
I think there are numerous reasons that the left wants to keep illegal's here. Some conspiratorial, some politically advantageous, some shared with republicans, and some driven by emotion. We have laws that address immigration. They aren't being followed. States that don't follow them aren't autonomous and don't have the right to dismiss them. An entire election has been largely conducted in part on immigration philosophy. I think I do have a good hold on the wheat vs chaff. I see the right in what's being done and the wrong that's being done. We do need immigration reform that meets the needs of 2026. That reform shouldn't be based on kicking in if 5000 people a day cross illegally. We need people out who aren't legally allowed to be here. We need new laws. We need for every state to follow the laws.

Again, if I missed a comment of yours directed to me it wasn't on purpose. Enjoy your comments.

Tell me if I'm wrong. If so, where

Chamtrain's view on illegal immigration enforcement:

Do you want violent criminal aliens in the country deported? Yes
Do you want non-violent criminal aliens in this country deported? No
Do you want illegal aliens in this country that have committed no crime (other than over-staying) deported? Hell No
Do you support the fed g'ments job to deport illegal aliens? No
Do you support sanctuary cities efforts to provide a safe haven from the country's immigration laws? Hell yes.

That about sum it up?
Why do we need to round up non criminal, non violent illegal immigrants? I get that we need a secure border. I agree. I don’t get we need to have a special force dedicated to rounding up non violent immigrants that are not doing harm.

I would much rather a country where people are overzealous in peacefully "intervening" in police actions they believe are unjust than one where the population is oppressed by unjust police actions and no one does anything about it.
