Petition for Concord, NC officials to stand against ICE detention centers
A recent New York Times report (Feb. 18, 2026) identified Concord, North Carolina as a potential site for a massive 1,500‑bed ICE detention warehouse. Although the City of Concord has said it has not been formally contacted and the owner of the warehouse most often linked to these reports has denied involvement, that does not remove the threat. The elimination of one specific site does not stop the federal government from pursuing other local properties.

Why This Matters for Concord

An ICE detention warehouse would bring long‑term, irreversible consequences to our community:

• Overloaded Infrastructure
Our water and sewer systems are already stretched. A limited amount of sewer capacity is granted to select construction projects each quarter while other sites must wait and reapply.

• Strained Emergency Services
A facility of this size would divert medical, fire, and law‑enforcement resources — all paid for by local taxpayers.

• Economic Harm
Converting industrial land for federal detention use would reduce property tax revenue, limit future economic development, and negatively impact nearby businesses.

• Community Safety & Well‑Being
Large‑scale detention sites create fear, instability, and uncertainty for residents acrossthe community. We want all of our neighbors to feel safe.

We Need Our Local Leaders to Act

Communities stop these facilities only when their elected officials take a clear stand. We,the undersigned, call on the Concord City Council and Mayor to publicly oppose any ICE detention warehouse in our city.

By signing this petition, you are urging our leaders to protect Concord’s infrastructure, economy, and neighborhoods — and to keep decisions about our community’s future in local hands.

Add your name to show that Concord stands together.

Wait, you acknowledge it’s Republicans who are deporting the people you feel sorry for, and you know Democrats have been the ones pushing for reforms that would benefit such people for decades, only to have every single legislative reform tanked by the Republicans, but you’re still choosing to blame Democrats based on a conspiracy theory???

When people keep telling you you’re in a cult, do you ever pause and consider, “Hmmm, is it possible I really am in a cult?”
The border crisis during Biden's term was allowed to go on entirely too long. Biden waited until JUNE OF 2024 to do anything, and it was clearly recognized as a "the election is coming, we better do something that looks good!" type of action that could have been taken years earlier.

How many repatriations were there from 2021 through 2024?

Gorman was walking with her friends when he approached them, wearing a mask, and started shooting at them.

Why are you running cover for her absolute stupidity?
Answer the question. Was she specifically targeted? Was the killer trying to kill her specifically? If so, then she wasn't in the wrong place, wrong time -- she was being assassinated.

If the killer wasn't trying to kill her specifically, but rather trying to kill whomever showed up, then she was in the wrong place, wrong time.

Do you have a third option you'd like to share with us, Mr. Logic?

Actually, I do feel sorry for the law abiding illegals who are being deported. I place the blame with the Dems open border policies that incentivized illegals to come simply to boost their state’s population for the census. They used these people as pawns for their purposes since citizens are fleeing their states.
Where do most of the migrants settle? Texas. And Florida. Were Dems trying to boost those states' populations for the census? Do you ever think about the bullshit you shovel?

I'm not sure and don't know how it's relevant, but I'm guessing it wasn't 7-8 million, which is how many people crossed the southern border under Biden.
You're claiming the Biden administration did nothing until June of 2024 about immigration, but the number of total removals over hist 4 years is not relevant? And I'm supposed to believe you know what the fuck you're talking about? How is it not relevant?

He doesn't know. It has been explained to him many, many times that Biden started working on the regulation that became the June 2024 order in 2022. He just hates knowledge.

Saying that she was in the wrong place at the wrong time and "startled" the murderer is a ridiculous thing to say, but was said to downplay that fact that she was murdered by someone here illegally. There is a 100% chance that this person wouldn't claim a victim was "in the wrong place at the wrong time" if it was a white nationalist/neo Nazi driving their car into a crowd in Charlottesville.

The immigration process is working all the time. We allow people across the southern border. We allow people the enter the country on various types of visas. People sometimes voluntarily leave the US and some people are forcibly removed from the US when they shouldn't be here.

The fact that those wheels are turning constantly doesn't change what was allowed to happen for 3.5 years at the southern border. The Biden admin waited until June of 2024 to finally put a daily limit on the number of southern border crossings. At that point, the "crisis" at the southern border was well documented.

You sure have powerful insights into the psychology of a person you've never heard of until two days ago.

Now that you've conceded that the statement was in fact accurate and logical, maybe you can explain why "someone here illegally" matters. If her murderer was an American citizen, would the crime be less heinous? Are we judging murder victims by their killers now? Oh, Renee Good, well that wasn't so bad because she was killed by a US law enforcement officer.

It has been explained to you time and again that this "June 2024" timeline is a lie. I won't dive into that again. I will let people decide whether Zen or super is the more authoritative source on questions of law or policy.

As has been explained to you many times, they started working on that poilcy in 2022. It's just that lawful executive action takes time, by design. We have something called the Administrative Procedure Act, which generally prohibits the government from making policies without going through a set of processes. Your ignorance of these requirements does not mean they do not exist.

Not talking about this any further with you.

A news article? Seriously?

Strange that newly elected Presidents can implement executive orders almost on Day 1, but it took years for Biden.

You have said things on the topic. That doesn't mean you're right or anything is being explained.
Serious question: do you actually think you are on equal footing as me talking about legal issues? Can you really not see that discussions between us are like RJ Davis playing one on one against a four year old?
